January 2 - Tubing in Medicine Bow National Forest Looking for something to do with the family during the holiday break? Leave the electronics and toys at home and spend your afternoon with us careening down a celebrated sledding hill in tubes and sleds. Depart Outdoor Recreation at noon for three hours of high flying snow fun! Kids under 75 are free, but space is limited, so reserve your slot today!

January 3 - Indoor Skydiving (RecOn) Join us in a state-of-the-art vertical wind tunnel that provides a fun and safe way to experience true human bodyflight. We fly people from ages 3 to 103. No experience necessary and all training is included. Make your dream a reality! Fee is $20 and includes transportation and your experience. Bring money for lunch.

January 9 - Family Ice Skating Trip Skate on the world’s largest Zamboni-groomed outdoor ice rink - a stunning 8.5-acre stretch of ice with 11 pond hockey rinks and a huge public skating rink. Departing from Outdoor Recreation at 8 a.m. and returning by 6 p.m. Cost is only $25 and includes transportation, skating pass and ice skate rental. Bring a sack lunch or money for food.

January 9 - Ski Breckenridge Just west of the Continental Divide in Summit County, it is perennially one of the most visited ski resorts in the western hemisphere. Breckenridge is owned and operated by one of the world’s leading ski resort operators boasting plenty of fresh powder and beautiful mountain trails. Depart Outdoor Recreation at 6 a.m. and return by 8 p.m. Cost is only $100 which includes lift ticket and rental equipment.

January 10 - Hot Cocoa/Campfire Sleigh Ride Enjoy a Horse-Drawn Sleigh Ride through snow covered mountains and forests. The ride stops at a roaring campfire where you can sip hot chocolate and roast marshmallows. If there’s not enough snow for the sleigh, the Belgian horses will be pulling a wagon. Cost is $35 per person. We’ll be stopping in Estes Park for food after the ride.

January 18 - Snowy Range Snowmobile Trip (RecOn) We’ve got reservations for 10 sleds at the Alpine lodge for a half day adventure plowing through powder in Medicine Bow National Forest. Bring money for lunch and drinks at the lodge or bring your own sack lunch and snack on the trail. Price is $75, includes machine, helmet, outer shell clothing, and transportation.

January 22-24 - Snofest 2016 at Keystone Resort (RecOn) For the second year in a row, we’ll be staying in condos near River Run Village, a short shuttle bus ride from the gondola!

We’ve made lodging reservations for 24 individuals! This trip ($150) includes ski/board rentals, two lift passes, and a two night stay. You are responsible for your own food and other entertainment.

Not a skier? Ask about snow shoeing, cross country skiing, ice skating and a world of other opportunities. There will be two buses - one departing at 5 a.m. enabling you to ski three days and the other departing after work on the Jan. 23 (anticipated 10:30 p.m. arrival at Keystone). Both buses return Sunday evening. Limit of two lift passes per customer.

January 30 - Ski Loveland Near to the hearts and homes of generations of Colorado skiers and riders, Loveland is Colorado’s true winter wonderland.

Depart Outdoor Recreation at 6 a.m. and return by 8 p.m. Cost is only $80 which includes lift ticket and rental equipment.

School Age Program The School Age Care Program

has openings for Before and After School Care for youth ages 5-12. Our programming provides activities that complement the school day. Schools that bus to the Youth Center include Freedom, Deming/Miller, and Pioneer Park Elementary. Drop-In Care is available for LCSD1 January 15. Fees for the program are based on total family income - ex: based on income of $30,000 a year, one child in both before and after school care, the cost is $29 per week.

to your child going to college? The Open Recreation Program can assist your child in finding their path to the future. The Open Recreation Program provides a safe, secure, fun environment after school and during special events. As an affiliate of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, and through their core curriculum, we provide activities to help youth develop a sense of belonging, competence, and influence. This facility is for youth ages 9-18.

Open Recreation will offer Free Friday January 8. Stop by and learn more about the opportunities for youth such as Torch Club, Keystone Club and BGCA Military Youth of the Year.

the Monday prior to the GPAB date. Referral slips can be obtained from a

commander, first sergeant, chaplain, Airmen and Fam-ily Readiness Center, Family Advocacy, Mental Health,

Youth Center or Child Development Center. Proof of the child immunizations

KempoThis is an instructional program

designed to teach the fundamentals and importance of sports and exercise as well as physical conditioning. This class is a combination of both hard and soft styles of martial arts, utilizing hard techniques such as kicking, punching, and blocking, as well as soft techniques similar to Brazilian Jui Ji Tsu. Classes are on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Pee Wee (ages 4 - 6), 6 - 6:45 p.m., Juniors (ages 7- 15), 6:45 - 7:45 p.m. and Seniors (ages 16 & older), 7:45 - 8:45 p.m. Pee Wee class is $30. Other classes, cost is $40. Discounts for more than one family member are available. Sign up at the Youth Center.

January 29 - Freedom Hall’s Contribution to New Year’s Reso-lution Freedom Halls Contribution to New Year’s Resolution is a competi-tion where teams of four (must have one female) compete showing their physical and mental abilities. Teams will run through our obstacle course consisting of suicides, rows, circuit of different types of body weight exercises, body drag, bear crawl and even a balancing event. But wait! Think you are more brains than brawn? After completing the course, your time stops then you move to our brain power portion of this competi-tion to earn time OFF your finishing time. The team with the fastest time after all portions are complete will be our winner.
