She asked if I brushed that side of my mouth first. Apparently, we brush harder when we begin brushing then we do toward the end. After 50 some years of brushing my teeth the same way, I had to learn to brush them differently! It wasn’t easy. Just starting on opposite side proved to be very difficult. I had to really think about what I was doing, and it seemed so awkward. Something as simple as brushing my teeth became a challenge. I wondered if it was worth learning a new way, but I really like my teeth and didn’t want to risk losing them (the hygienist said that could happen). So, I continued to work at it, thinking about each step of a simple task, and eventually I got it. Now, I really don’t think that much about it. A new way of brushing my teeth is now my normal way of brushing my teeth. Changing the way we do things is never easy, especially if we have been doing them that way for so long. Sometimes though there is a very good reason to change. Sometimes we find that the effort to change is really worth it. We don’t notice the difference as much as we thought we would. All of us have gone though a lot of changes in the past year. Not only here at Saron, but in our personal lives as well. Some of the changes we welcomed, and some were hard to adjust too, maybe we are still adjusting. A New Year is upon us bringing with it opportunities we have not yet imagined. What are your hopes and dreams for Saron UCC in this new year? In what ways are you willing to be involved to see that happen? Share these with me and with the Consistory. Great things are on the horizon and it will take all of us working together and learning new ways of being church. It may not be easy. We may have to think about each step as we move along. But we have each other and we have God. Blessed New Year, Pastor RaeAnn

From The Pastor
My dental hygienist told me that the gums on the left side of my mouth were receding.

Advent Angel Tree
The awesome generosity of the members of Saron is truly amazing. Our hearts are overflowing at
the kindness you have shown to brightened the lives of many people this Christmas. All the tags
that were taken were returned by Sunday. We appreciate the time people spent picking out items
on the tags and the wrapping them up so beautifully. The children and their families in the
Sheboygan County Head Start Program will receive many needed items to live day to day plus
some toys for the children. We also provided gifts for Seniors from Pine Haven and Sunny Ridge
Nursing Homes who would not have received a gift this Christmas. Also thank you for the cash
donations we received. We used the money to purchase gifts for the tags that were not taken from
the tree.
We are so thankful for your kindness during this Christmas season!!
The Women’s Guild
Cookie Sale
The Women’s Guild and Prayer Shawl
Ministries would like to send a big THANK
YOU to all those who purchased cookies.
The money we made will help support
projects that we do.
