1 January 2016 Annapolis Alumnae Chapter The Delta Times Greetings from the President Sorors, Happy New Year! As we enter into 2016, there is so much to celebrate and reasons to give thanks. For many of us, the new year is a time to renew or set new goals and refocus ourselves towards a year of prosperity, peace, and joy. As you know, on January 13th, our sorority celebrated 103 years of sisterhood and service. On January 30th, many of our chapter members will attend the Maryland Statewide Founders Day Program at Martin’s West in Baltimore. As we celebrate yet another milestone for our sorority, what a wonderful oppor- tunity to recommit ourselves to the very reasons we joined this amazing organiza- tion. We have provided sisterhood and service in Annapolis and surrounding communities for the past 68 years, and our contributions continue to grow each year. None of this is possible without the passion and tireless efforts of you, our members. It was with great pride that on January 10th, the chapter was recognized for its participation in the Winter Relief Program in partnership with a local church. In addition to feeding 15 homeless women, one of our chapter members went a step further and personally made 15 beautiful and unique fleece blankets for each of the women. The image of the women walking around proudly with their blankets draped around their shoulders will forever stay etched in my mind as a reminder of why we do what we do in the communities that we serve. The programs that we implement have meaning and impact in our communities. Each and every chapter member plays a part in the success of these programs and in the growth of our chapter, and your efforts are acknowledged and greatly ap- preciated. As we enter into a new year, let us reflect on the very reasons we all became mem- bers of this illustrious organization as we continue to grow in our personal lives and in Delta. January 2016 Annapolis Alumnae Chapter
The Delta Times
Greetings from the President
Sorors,
Happy New Year! As we enter into 2016, there is
so much to celebrate and reasons to give thanks.
For many of us, the new year is a time to renew
or set new goals and refocus ourselves towards a
year of prosperity, peace, and joy.
As you know, on January 13th, our sorority
celebrated 103 years of sisterhood and service.
On January 30th, many of our chapter members
will attend the Maryland Statewide Founders
Day Program at Martin’s West in Baltimore.
As we celebrate yet another milestone for our sorority, what a wonderful oppor-
tunity to recommit ourselves to the very reasons we joined this amazing organiza-
tion. We have provided sisterhood and service in Annapolis and surrounding
communities for the past 68 years, and our contributions continue to grow each
year. None of this is possible without the passion and tireless efforts of you, our
members.
It was with great pride that on January 10th, the chapter was recognized for its
participation in the Winter Relief Program in partnership with a local church. In
addition to feeding 15 homeless women, one of our chapter members went a step
further and personally made 15 beautiful and unique fleece blankets for each of
the women. The image of the women walking around proudly with their blankets
draped around their shoulders will forever stay etched in my mind as a reminder
of why we do what we do in the communities that we serve.
The programs that we implement have meaning and impact in our communities.
Each and every chapter member plays a part in the success of these programs and
in the growth of our chapter, and your efforts are acknowledged and greatly ap-
preciated.
As we enter into a new year, let us reflect on the very reasons we all became mem-
bers of this illustrious organization as we continue to grow in our personal lives
and in Delta.

Education and Youth in Action
On Saturday, December 18th chapter members participated in the annual Toys for Tots Giveaway held
at Anne Arundel Community College. Sorors Joyce Vauls, Tanya Diggs and Hattie Penn were among
the many volunteer participants. There were several hundred families present and thousands of toys
and bikes given way. It was a busy day but a very worthwhile event.
