2014 Holiday Wreath & Tree RaffleA Big Thank You!

Thank you to everyone who participated in December’s Tree & Wreath Raffle! The luncheon fund-raiser was a huge success. Many thanks to those who donated time and money to create wreaths & trees for auction. Thank you also to those who supported the event by purchasing raffle tickets!

A huge thank you to our wonderful pianist, Jade Lemery who was so talented!! Thank you for cre-ating such a beautiful ambience at Club 56 for our supporters. Your music put us in the Christmas spirit. What a wonderful treat!

The event could not have taken place without the wonderful leadership of the Committee Chair, Barb Meyers. The Luke OSC would like to extend its gratitude to Barb, for bringing together cur-rent and retiree members to make this event an elegant and successful fundraiser. Thank you also to our advisors, Jen Pleus, Lisa Sloane, Theresa Ainsworth & Theresa Kossler, for your assistance and support throughout the planning process.

A special thanks to Tamara and Lisa for their help in decoration set-up! Thanks also to Pudge and her daughter for selling tickets, and to Barb Meyer, Angela Hauck, and Jess Raper for running the raffle smoothly and efficiently.

A very big thanks to our LOSC President, Suz Dunn, for working with Club 56 on the menu pricing, and to Cindy Jones for handling the large number or reservations - they have big jobs and they make it look easy! Thanks to all the Board Members who helped pull the event details together. And last, but not least, thank you to the Club 56 staff, for providing the venue and deli-cious meals/drinks for our event. It is so nice to have a comfortable and central place at Luke AFB where we can continue to host our functions.

The Holiday Wreath & Tree Raffle featured a record-breaking number of trees and wreaths do-nated this year. The funds from the purchased raffle opportunities will go towards the Luke OSC Welfare fund, which assists the Luke OSC in supporting community charities.

LOSC ladies, thank you for helping us raise funds so we can continue to give back to our Luke AFB community!

Thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s raffle a success. If you didn’t win the wreath you had your eye on this year, remember, there’s always next year! Cheers! :)

VA Holiday Lunch Thank you!Thank you to our LOSC volunteers and Airmen volunteers who helped with the Holiday Lunch at the VA Hospital. It was a great event, enjoyed by all!

Oasis Meals

On the second Saturday of each month, the LOSC pro-vides a meal for 30-40 air-men who live in the dorms. I am so pleased to report that all of our dates for this season have already been filled through the won-derful volunteerism of our Luke community!

We would like to thank the 309th Fighter Squadron for providing an amazing meal for our airmen in No-vember. It was a great suc-cess!

The December meal was hosted by the 56th Den-tal Squadron/56th Med Group. Thanks to all our

volunteers!

Ronald McDonald House

Each year, the LOSC pre-pares dinner for the Ron-ald McDonald House (Cam-bridge House). The RMH is a “home away from home” for families who must trav-el to recieve treatment at Phoenix Children’s Hospi-tal.

We are working to identify more dates that the LOSC can provide meals for these families. If you would like to be involved please contact Amber McKibban.

Airmen Cookie Drive Thank You!‘Twas the month of December, at Luke Air Force Base,With Thunderbolts at work, the volunteers did bake.

The cookies were made with holiday flair,In hopes that the Airmen knew that they cared.

With nearly 500 boxes of cookies created,The Airmen dorm rooms would soon be invaded.

The smiles on their faces, as First Sergeants arrived,

Is what keeps the holiday spirit alive!

To see a video clip of the Cookie Drive Poem in action, go to https://www.face-book.com/video.php?v=856195617736738

Thanks to all the “elves” who helped bake, collect and package more than 12,000 cookies. There were lots of oohs and aahs over the gorgeous homemade treats! Despite all the rain that morning, it was truly a magical day for all!

Lisa Sloane 2014 Airmen Cookie Drive Chairman
