Lip SyncCharacter designs
James Price (492317)
These are the character designs I came up with while working on the lip sync project. I was thinking about making the characters rabbits with high pitched voices at first (similar to Alvin and the
Chipmunks) but I later decided to make them human, because I thought the audience could relate to human characters losing their pets more. The reason I designed three boys was because there were
originally going to be three boys in the animation. But I animated only one of the boy characters because I felt I only needed one, plus there would have been too many characters on screen at once.
Also because the boys are talking about their pets, I did design some guinea pigs for them to be on screen with the boys. But I did not use the guinea pigs because as stated earlier, there would have
been too many characters on screen and I didn't have the time to animate them all.
Layouts
These are the layouts that I used for the lip sync animation. I traced the bottom picture on water colour paper and painted it with water colour paint to produce the background seen in the
animation.
Character Poses

In these sketches, I tried drawing out poses for the characters to get an idea on how they will move.

Character Animation
James Price (492317)
To animate the character I chose to use, I drew the parts on paper, scanned them into Flash and tweened them to get cut out animation effect (similar to South Park) and I drew the mouth on a
separate layer.
PixillationI made this animation in the style of films from the silent era. To animate this film I used myself as the puppet and animated myself in stop frame animation (much like how Aardman's Angry Kid and the music video to Peter Gabriel's Sledgehammer was animated). Different props were used during the making of this film, such as different hats, and plasticine for the content coming out of my ears
and nose. I also dressed myself up like an actor from the silent film era (like Charlie Chaplin).
