InDeal project will offer an innovative solution turning the
current DHCS into a new next-level automated DHCS
that will guarantee the increase of the overall energy
efficiency of the system accomplishing fairly
distribution of heating and cooling among the
network’s buildings by:
• real-time energy consumption data gathering via AI
meters;
• identifying and evaluating the network’s buildings’
demand for heating and cooling depending to their
energy efficiency, energy consumption and type of
building (EDP tool);
• predicting the short-term and long-term weather
conditions and forthcoming need for heating and
cooling (EDP tool);
• monitoring and control the level of energy stored in
network’s storage stations and substations (SMT);
• 24/7 monitoring of the DHC system by a central control
platform and web/mobile platform for consumer;
• minimizing heat losses via novel pipe design solutions
and innovative insulation materials.

URBANREC project aims to:
• improve the separation and disassembling of urban
bulky waste,
• implementing advanced fragmentation techniques to
obtain high quality raw materials,
• promoting innovative valorisation routes for those
considered more problematic (PUR foam, mixed hard
plastics and mixed textiles), not recycled due to lack
of eco-innovative cost-effective solutions.
The waste treatments considered in the project include:
• rebonding and chemical glycolysis for the PUR
materials, to prepare renewable adhesives,
• needle felt to obtain isolation panels from textiles,
• fibre reinforced composites from textiles,
• Wood-Plastic composites (WPC),
• catalytic hydro-gasification with plasma for mixed hard
plastics to obtain chemicals or fuel.

Heat4Cool proposes an innovative, efficient and cost-effective
solution to optimize the integration of a set of rehabilitation systems in
order to meet the net-zero energy standards.
The project develops, integrates and demonstrates an easy to install
and highly energy efficient solution for building retrofitting that
begins from the Heat4Cool advanced decision-making tool and
leads to the optimal solution combining:
• gas and solar thermally driven adsorption heat pump, which
permits the full integration with existing natural gas boilers to
ensure efficient use of current equipment,
• solar PV assisted DC powered heat pump connected to an
advanced modular PCM heat and cold storage system,
• thermal energy recovery from sewage water with high
performance heat exchangers.

MAESTRI project provides a management system in the form of a
flexible and scalable platform to guide and simplify the implementation of
an innovative approach, the Total Efficiency Framework. The overall
aim of this framework is to encourage a culture of improvement within
process industries by assisting the decision-making process,
supporting the development of improvement strategies and helping define
the priorities to improve the company’s environmental and economic
performance. Its development and validation will be achieved through
application in four real industrial settings across a variety of activity
sectors.
The Total Efficiency Framework will be based on four main pillars to
overcome the current barriers and promote sustainable improvements:
• an effective management system targeted at process and continuous
improvement;
• efficiency assessment tools to define improvement and optimization
strategies and support decision-making processes;
• integration with a toolkit for Industrial Symbiosis focusing on material
and energy exchange;
• a software Platform, based on the Internet of Things (IoT), to simplify
the concept implementation and ensure an integrated control of
improvement process.

Emil LEZAK holds a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, focused in
Complex/Polymer Materials, from the CBMiM, PAN (Centre of Molecular and Macromolecular Studies, Polish Academy of Sciences) of Lodz, Poland. He posses also Engineer degree in Protection of Environment from Technical University of Lodz, Poland.
He has a good knowledge of the R&D processes and products (over 8 years in R&D departments – Poland/Spain) in the field of novel multifunctional complex nanomaterials, related to the energy and environmental sector. His interdisciplinary experience allow to him to use the software for simulation and optimization of various source of energy system. During his intensive professional career he has obtained
multidisciplinary expertise and skills related to project management, business modelling and market analysis, IPR management. Furthermore, his strong characteristic are able to effectively take decisions and to interact with different partner profiles, including small
enterprises, large industrial players, academic institutions and public bodies.

Anna BORTKIEWICZ is a graduate of Poznan University of Technology in
Environmental Engineering. Holds title of Engineer and completed Master
of Science in Thermal Energy Systems at University of Seville.
Specializes in energetic audits and technological solutions for industrial
and residential purposes. Participated in European Project under 7th
Framework programme called OMSoP, with a successful publication
about methodology that finds potential markets for small-sacle solar
systems.
Is highly motivated with a positive attitude. Her communicative and
decisive skills are useful in cooperation and brings about successful results.

Jakub PLUTA is a graduate of University of Life Science in Lublin
(Poland) in Environmental Engineering. Holds a title of Engineer and is
completing Master of Science at Lublin University of Technology with
the area of HVAC systems.
He has experience in HVAC installations and networks design, also
based on solar energy and heat pumps.
