Habitats targeted by LIFE (4020) Wet Atlantic Erica ciliaris and Erica tetralix heath, (4030) Dry European heath, (4040) Dry coastal Atlantic heath with Erica vagans, (6210) semi-natural dry meadows, (6230) plant formations with Nardus, (6410) meadows with molinias, (7140) transition mires, (7210) calcareous cladiummariscus fens and with cariciondavallana species. These habitats occupy 29% of the total surface area of the ZEC. Mount Jaizkibel rises over the Bajo Bidasoa region as an immense sandstone mass, running east-west. It is an important orographic element on the Basque coast, due to its dimensions, height (547m) and impact on the landscape.
