We wish you all great Diwali celebration with your family and friends and best wishes for the New Year of V.S. 2067. We have Diwali Day celebration, combined with our General Body Meeting, on Saturday, November 6. The Program details are included in this Jainvani. We completed the celebration of the Paryushan Parva during September 4 to 11, ending with Parna for Sakal Sangh on September 12. On behalf of the Board of Trustees and the Executive Committee, we want to offer our „Michhami Dukkadam‟ to all of you. We seek forgiveness from all of you for any transgressions through Thoughts, Words and Actions. Here are the highlights of Paryushan and other events at the temple: Members enjoyed the Paryushan Parva with scholar Shri. Bhadrabahuji. He also conducted special lectures in Hindi. We had 37 (36 adults and 1 youth) members who completed Atthai (8 fasts) or higher Tapasya in good 'Shaata'. Please see the later part of Jainvani for a complete list of all the Tapasvis. 18 Study class student did Tapasya (16 points and higher) on all Eight days of Paryushan. Their age ranging from 7 years to 15 years. New Pledges during the Paryushan week added up to over $73K. We are delighted to announce that we have received the sponsorship to do Sakal Sangh Parna for 2012. We already have sponsor for 2011. Many members of JSGD observed the "Shri Das Lakshana Parva" with Smt. Tarlaben Doshi. Daily activities included Puja and lectures (Morning Topic “Das Lakshana” and Evening Topic “32nd Uttaradhyan Adhyayan Pramad Sthan”) by Tarlaben. Das Lakshana Dharam Puja and Swamivatsalya were celebrated on September 19th. 3We would like to convey our Best Wishes and "Shaata" for graciously completing the Parva. Other events: JSGD members had a great time with Samaniji Charitra Prajnaji & Samaniji Prasanna Pragyaji during two days Shibir (8/28-29). More than 150 members attended Shibir including Youths. This was the signature event where we had kept two days of religious discourses at the temple with Snacks, Lunch and Dinner. We have received very positive feedback about the event. We had a lukewarm response to Ahimsa day Ayambil (10/3). It was done by app. 50 members. We were so fortunate to have the Long Island, NY, Sangh (52 Yatris) visiting us (10/9) as part of their Yatra. We are thankful to approx. 40 JSGD members who welcomed and accompanied them throughout their visit. Long Island Sangh praised our efforts for support, religious activities, food, and exceptional hospitality.
