Talmudic story tells of a traveler who once saw a man plant- ing a carob tree. He asked him when he thought the tree would bear fruit. “After 70 years,”was the reply. “Do you expect to live 70 years and eat the fruit of your labor?” “I did not find the world desolate when I entered it,” said the old man, “and as my ancestors planted for me before I was born, so do I plant for those who will come after me.” For more than 75 years, our JCC has proven to be Houston’s dynamic center of Jewish life. e JCC turns everyday minutes into Jewish moments and makes for lifetime memories. ere are genera- A ........................................................................................................ inside connections NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED BY THE JCC ASSOCIATION 38TH ANNUAL JEWISH BOOK & ARTS FAIR Sunday, October 31 SEE PAGE 3 FOR A COMPLETE LISTING OF JEWISH BOOK & ARTS FAIR EVENTS Dennis Danziger A Short History of a Tall Jew 4:30 PM Film: Sharon An Inner Journey from War to Peace Director: Dror Moreh 1:30 PM membership & registration Considering membership? Who Will Shape Our Future?Legacy Planning at the JCC

Individuals making a legacy gift to the JCC ensure that the JCC can continue to impact the lives of future generations. Legacy giving, which can be flexibly arranged, is a wonderful way to easily provide benefits to the many children, adults and seniors that will be participating in JCC programs in the years to come.
