Head Teacher Awards for STAR Values
Strive - Matthew Ward, Alfie Tiplady-Such, Millie Scott, Josie Hodnett,
We are delighted to announce that we will be welcoming a new member of staff from January
2019. Ms Holly Barnes will be stepping into Buzzards 2 days a week to enable Mrs Woods to
continue her hard work as SENCo while maintaining her class teacher role for the remaining 3
days per week.
We hope you will join us in welcoming Holly to Sun Hill Junior School and Year 5.
Awards and acheivments
Congratulations to Max in Kestrels for his award for outstanding progress in swimming.
"I was nominated for the Southern Water “Learn to Swim Achievers Award 2018” by my
teachers Katie and Zoey at the School of Dolphins. On Saturday, I received my award from
Duncan Goodhew and Mike Goody. Duncan is an Olympic gold medalist and Mike Goody (who was
injured whilst serving in the war) has just come back from the Invictus Games in Australia with
a gold medal. All the winners got to hold their Olympic medals, an Olympic torch and we even
got to spend time in the pool with them. I had a lesson in technique with Duncan.”
Congratulations to Connie Butler in Kingfishers who has been announced as the winner of the JRSO Be Bright Be Seen Poster Competition!
