~ P U B L I C N O T I C E ~ ITC Midwest and Xcel Energy are hosting public open houses on June 20 in Mapleton and June 21 in Mankato for the proposed Huntley-Wilmarth 345 kilovolt (kV) transmission line project. The Huntley- Wilmarth project is needed to reduce congestion on the transmission grid in southern Minnesota and northern Iowa that is inhibiting low-cost electricity from generation facilities, including wind farms in the area, from reaching customers. Representatives from ITC Midwest and Xcel Energy will take comments and answer questions from landowners and interested ITC MIDWEST & XCEL ENERGY OPEN HOUSES SCHEDULED Electric Transmission Line Project stakeholders at the open houses. ITC Midwest and Xcel Energy intend to file necessary permits to build the approximately 40-50 mile 345 kV transmission line in southern Minnesota. The transmission line would connect Xcel Energy’s Wilmarth Substation, north of Mankato, and ITC Midwest’s Huntley Substation, south of Winnebago (view map). The projected in-service date for the project is the end of 2021.
