IT Services –delivering responsive, innovative ITat the University of Oxford

We provide the IT services that the University of Oxford requires to fulfil its mission to be a world-class centre for research and teaching. As well as the core IT systems, tools and services that keep the University running day-to-day, we provide innovative services and projects to support learning, teaching and research. Our work is wide-ranging and diverse – explore what we do in the sections below.

IT Services - Historical Context IT Services was inaugurated in August 2012. It brought together all the former ICT providers within

University Administration and Services.

What are our ‘Services’?Our service catalogue is a list of the customer-facing services provided by IT Services. We have provided various ways to view the catalogue: by clusters of services around a particular theme,

e.g. research support by role, e.g. student as an A to Z listing which is searchable by service

the ‘big 4’ enterprise applications:

Oracle Financials (now R12)

Student Systems (now SITS:Vision)

Core HR

Development & Alumni Relations System (DARS)

And others such as:

X5, Planon, Qube, Childcare database and others

Service Desk – Customer team and Support team

Support Centres formed for each of the ‘big 4’ business systems

5th Support Centre to cover other Admin IT applications

Superusers in departments

All of IT Services now using HEAT
