Welcome to Issue 8Dear Partners,

I guess by now we have all settled back in to our normal routine, after returning from a very fruitful distributor meeting in Zanzibar/Dubai. It was great seeing you there and I hope this meeting has given you enough food for thought for the remainder of this Financial Year.

Upon our return, another very successful event kicked off in Istanbul, Turkey. Many representatives from distributors in our CAMEA area, gathered there to attend the PP Sales Training, which took place from the 2nd – 4th of September.

As promised we will be offering more training to achieve the required high standard and quality for your sales staff. My advice would be, please send your staff to our training sessions and motivate them to complete the online courses available through the MPlus and Outward systems. This will make a big difference for you as a company, now and in the future.

What else then knowledge and great service can help us achieve the most coveted status in the market? The all-important no. 1 position? Our aim will not just be the No.1 for Office Colour Systems, but also to achieve a strong market leadership with our Production Printing product line – in both colour and black/white.

Of course we can only achieve this together. So let’s get to work and make sure this will not just be an aim but reality!

Until we meet again.

Yours,

Mark Oldfield

Senior Area Manager CAMEA & Head of Malta Offices Business Operations Division Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe

speakers; Mr. Shane White and Mr. David Fava and the representatives from Infoland LLC, Mr. Ildar Giniatullin and Mr. Illarion Ovcharov.

After the introductions Askar started with a short presentation about Konica Minolta – history and current status, management philosophy and vision. Quickly he grabbed the attention of the participants with Konica Minolta Europe’s strategic focus for the region: (a) A3 color machines to be the market leader in each country; (b) Production Printing machines to gain more print volume; (c) A3 Black and white machines which are still main business in our region. Participants of the events were very surprised to learn that Konica Minolta’s market share in Europe - especially in segment of A3 color Production Printing machines – is 46%!

This event was supported by Shane White, European Senior Document Services Specialist,

OPS Business Development, International Marketing Division and David Fava, Business Development Specialist from Malta office. They provided the participants at the event with an overview of Konica Minolta’s own concept of Managed Print Services (MPS) called Optimized Print Services (OPS). The OPS model, its history and main phases and pillars were also explained. Shane and David also discussed experiences of current clients with

The main objective of the event was to send a message to the business community that Konica Minolta’s OPS concept is one of the global leaders in managed print services (> $500 million turnover; 6,500 customers; and >200,000 deployed devices in 2013) and that Konica Minolta is planning to focus on promoting the OPS concept in Kazakhstan.

Although the holiday season was in full swing, the event achieved a good attendance rating. People were actively participating during the event. Most guests attending came from the finance, educational or IT related sectors. The editor-in-chief of IСT Magazine - one of the most popular IT magazines of Kazakhstan – attended the event and is planning to write an article for the next issue of the magazine.

Askar Satybekov, Konica Minolta’s business consultant opened the event and explained its objectives, noting that Konica Minolta as one of the Market Leaders is moving from just “box selling” to proposing solutions to its customers. He introduced Konica Minolta’s

OPS Launch Event Almaty - Kazakhstan

Konica Minolta’s OPS from different industries. Participants were happy to learn that Konica Minolta managers use the PMI or PRINCE2 methodology, global tools for project management to manage the OPS projects. They also understood the benefits of OPS realization with Konica Minolta: (a) pro-active management of printing infrastructure with continuous improvement and dynamic optimisation matched to business needs; (b) focus on environmental issues; (c) focus on security; (d) reduced burden on internal IT departments; (e) elimination of unwanted printouts; (f) automated processes; (g) controlled and standardized implementation; and (i) access to “best-in-breed” technology.

The presentation of Illarion Ovcharov - Head of the Sales department for Infoland - on the specifics of OPS implementation in Kazakhstan incited an overwhelming reaction from the participants. They raised a lot of questions and received answers from all of the participating presenters. One of the main achievements of the event was that representatives of Infoland’s current prospects - ATF Bank, Mega and National University – received a better understanding of the OPS concept and according to them they would be supporting implementation of the OPS approach within their organizations.

Konica Minolta together with Infoland, its Kazakh partner, organized an OPS Launch event in Almaty, Kazakhstan on the 31st of July 2014.

Office SolutionsKonica Minolta offers you an

extensive portfolio of software applications accompanied by diligent business process consulting, not only to optimise existing structures and workflows but to help you create and set up entirely new work cycles.

However, we believe it is time that these solutions are categorized in a distributor-friendly way, depending on their proper target audience.

We adopted the solution matrix to your needs and modified it just enough by adding fields such as; Customer Type, Customer Size, definition of Customer Size (rough estimation/indicative figures)

This solution matrix will enable you to better select the best fitting solution for your particular client, case by case – enabling you to build an offer based solely on your estimations.

Please Note: Customer size mentioned

is only indicative. To adopt a more realistic figure to your local market – classify customer size (by device fleet) according to your business and define what is small, medium, large or XL in your market. Then simply match your outcomes with the sizes as indicated in the matrix and this will give you a clearer idea.

Recently we spoke to Ramzi Debs from Skysat Technologies Nigeria Ltd. and he told us about a recent installation of which he was particulaly proud.

“It was a special and honourable day for Skysat Technologies Nigeria Ltd, at Doxa Creative Concept, Warri, Delta State, where we installed a KIP C7800 printer, KIP 720 Scanner and a bizhub C1085.

The installation of the KIP C7800 printer and KIP 720 scanner were completed on 24th August 2014. This prompted the customer to organize a commissioning ceremony. This event took place on Monday the 25th of August.
