Enjoying the Airstream Life
Wow, can you believe it’s almost November! Fall is in the air,
all the great fall colors and colder nights. Its a great time to
enjoy the Airstream life when the State Parks and RV parks are not
as crowded. For those of you that are heading south for the warmer
weather and adventures, safe travels and we’ll see you in the
spring.
I’d like to also mention again about the Region 10 Rally in
Lynden, WA July 21-26, 2020 that we are hosting. This is a great
opportunity for the Washington Airstream Club to show what we’re
about, “Fun, Fellowship and Adventure.” The Region 10 Rally is
right after the Splash Rally in Darington July 16-19. It’ll be
perfect for those attending that Rally to go straight to Lynden
afterwards. I’ll be looking for volunteers as soon as possible so
we can get help from the other units also. Please let me know if
you’re plan-ning on attending the rally and if you’re willing to
help out. We will be looking for volunteers to help with food
preparation, parking, entertainment, decorations, community
ser-vice, seminars and children’s program.
Fun was had by all that attended the Oyster Rally, the weather
for the most part was good. The rain stopped just in time for
social hour on Friday. Oysters on the half shell and appetizers
were enjoyed by all those that attended. The Oyster Festival itself
had plenty of food, live entertainment, wine and beer tasting and
the oyster shucking con-test.
We have the Halloween Rally October 25th to the 27th in Harmony
Hall. This is a rally you don’t want to miss! It’s going to be
spooktactular! I hear the haunted hallway is not for those of you
that might get scared! Your hosts are Corey & Manda Lyghts,
Evan & Inga Hall and Scott & Donna Bryson
Mark your calendar for December 13-15 and get registered for the
Old Fashion Christmas Rally hosted by Don & Mary Lisius. Mr
& Mrs Santa Claus will be there for photos. A catered dinner is
being planned for Saturday along with entertainment.
The Winter Luncheon will be January 11, 2020 at the China Main
Buffet in Lacey.
Don’t forget the 2020 Fishing Caravan, May 4-14. This is a buddy
rally, so invite your friends and family.
We are putting together the new Membership Directory which will
available in late January 2020. The directory is sent out
electronically. If you’d like a printed copy please call (360)
259-3758 or email me at [email protected] Your membership
fees are due by December 31, 2019. To make sure your information
gets into the new International Blue Beret directory, you need to
get your dues in before November 1, 2019.
You are invited to attend our Board of Trustees office hours
where we discuss the business and rallies for the club. We meet the
3rd Tuesday of the month at 6pm. Our next meeting is November 19th
in the library at Harmony Hall at the Washington Land Yacht
Harbor.
Thank you again, Terry Miller and the BOT.

Thank you from Northwest Battle Buddies American Heros To all of
you who attended our fund raiser to benefit Northwest Battle
Buddies (NWBB); I want to thank each of you for your donation. I
can assure you that whatever you donated is being used wisely by
Shannon Walker and her team.
Below, please review this article from Shannon Walker and then
view the Youtube video. I met Gordon (veteran in the video)
approximately 2 months ago. Gordon is like many of the veterans
that NWBB helps. I know you've heard it before but 22 veterans a
day commit suicide (more than twice the national average of
non-veterans). This is terrible! NWBB is making a real difference
in the lives of real people. If you want to know more please visit
their web site at www.northwestbattlebuddies.org
Thanks, Mike Plympton

2019 Christmas Rally Hi Friends,
Just a quick note to let you all know to keep Dec 13, 14
&15th open for an incredible Christmas rally!
We will be having professional photos with Santa & Mrs.
Santa. A fun pirate gift exchange. A Friday evening potluck along
with some old fashioned holiday guitar music & sing a long.
It's time we had an Old Fashioned Christmas.
We will be having a Giving tree, where you can take a tag and
bless a needy child with a gift. There is possibility of a
individual craft sale? A cookie contest? IT'S YOUR OLD FASHIONED
CHRISTMAS RALLY. We are still open to ideas.
The important part is the full catered dinner with predinner fun
and magic. Yes! We will keep our hard working cooks and meal
preparers out of the kitchen! After dinner we have a professional
comedian! We plan to have a Sunday morning worship !
We have many awesome volunteers who have stepped forward and it
sounds like we're on track to have a spectacular Christmas rally.
Please plan to
have fun and food and celebrate with friends and neighbors!
Sincerely, your rally hosts, Don & Mary Lisius and many,
many volunteers. The rally fee is $30 per person.

Doll Project A belated "thank you" to everyone who donated
towards the table runner raffle at the Salmon Rally. The raffle
benefited the Doll Project and the $172.00 raised will help to
purchase 18" dolls for next years Christmas project. Our Doll
Project group raises money all year to purchase 50 dolls and our
committee of Santa's Helpers (otherwise known as sewers) sew
complete wardrobes of clothing for each doll. Our next raffle will
be at the Christmas rally where we will have a darling doll bed and
bedding (made and donated by Patty Sagen) plus an 18" doll and her
wardrobe of clothing - perfect for the daughter, grand-daughter, or
great-grand-daughter. Our committee welcomes donations of fabric,
trims, dolls or monetary donations. We look forward to seeing you
at the Christmas rally.

2020 Fishing Caravan - May 4 – 14, 2020 Silverline Resort on
Pearrygin Lake near Winthrop
May 4 - 8 Black Beach Resort on Curlew Lake near Republic
May 8-14 This is a Buddy Rally
(This means your non-Airstream friends may also come in their
rigs for the same cost.) Hosted by Dan & Julie Hockday
You don't have to fish to enjoy this caravan! Explore, golf,
enjoy the lakes, walk or bike the nearby rail trail and relax in
the company of your fellow
travelers.
Plans are coming together for the 2020 Fishing Caravan. Yes,
it’s a caravan this year as we will be going to two lakes. The
estimated caravan fee along with more particulars will be in the
November Washington Sound.
We plan on arriving at Silverline Resort on Pearrygin Lake near
Winthrop on Monday May 4, 2020. Some may leave on Sunday after the
Cinco de Mayo Rally at the Land Yacht Harbor and overnight at Beebe
Bridge Park. It’s about 250 miles from Lacey to Pearrygin Lake.
(Beebe Bridge to Pearrygin Lake is about 67 miles).
We will leave Silverline on Friday the 8th and drive to Black
Beach on Curlew Lake near Republic
(about 124 miles). We will leave Curlew Lake on Friday the 15th;
most will overnight at Beebe
Bridge, then home on Saturday morning. (Curlew to Beebe Bridge
is about 132 miles).
There’s great golfing near Pearrygin Lake! Fishing is supposed
to be much better than when we were here a few years ago. Two meals
will be provided, including Harold Campbell’s famous beer pancakes!
49’ers Days will be happening over Mother’s Day weekend in Winthrop
for those who wish to stay longer than May 8
th.
There are all kinds of things to do near Republic, WA! You can
dig for fossils, visit an antique car and truck museum, ride horses
and take in the other amenities at K Diamond K Ranch, ride your
bikes or walk on the rail trail, and other interesting things to
do. Three meals will be provided at Curlew Lake, and we will have
the usual Ladies' day in Republic and the Mother's Day Lunch/Brunch
will be no-host. Impromptu potlucks are always a possibility;
groceries and supplies available in the nearby towns of Winthrop
and Republic.
We’ll have social hour and door prizes every evening at 4:00 pm,
games, fishing prizes and of course, Billy Bass lies in wait for
those who provide the best social hour entertainment tales of
missteps and misadventures! Billy Bass will be passed around each
night as the tales and misadventures unfold. Remember, Billy is
meant to be fun and entertaining! At Curlew, we plan to have a
movie night with popcorn, a trivia night with prizes, and depending
on our campers, music and singing.
Any questions? Please call or text Dan Hockaday at 360-259-2116,
or email at [email protected]. Charli Westerfield may also
be able to answer questions: [email protected], or 360-456-6445.
More info coming in the early next year. We look forward to seeing
you at Silverline Resort and Black Beach Resort in May!

SPRING BI UNIT RALLY
April 17-18
Our British Columbia friends in Unit 121are looking forward to
seeing us in the Anacortes/La Conner area in mid April. We are
jointly working on a location for lots of rigs and cabins, location
not yet determined.
Mid April brings the tulip festival with flowers in full bloom
(hopefully). Local events are ongoing.
There's lots of shopping, dining, and specialty shops in Mt.
Vernon, Burlington, La Conner, and Anacortes. A short drive to
Deception Pass gets you to walking, hiking, and bike riding
opportunities in the State Park. So little time, so much to do!
