In the framework of the project “Feeling Younger by Getting Older”, funded by the LLP - Action Grundtvig partnership, all the partners met on May 30th, 2013, in Prague, Czech Republic, at the “Dům zahraničních služeb“. The meeting was organized by the local partner lasted three days, between the May 30th and June 1st 2013, and was attended by representatives of all the organizations involved in the project apart from Portugal and UK partner.  Initially, Mrs. Michaela Tuzilova, representing the host organization welcome the participants and presented the program for the transnational meeting, and also the hosting country. The next presentation was done by M. Koucká, and concentrated on CZ ageing problem in comparison with other EU countries, whereas the different measures to capture the problem that have been already taken have been discussed. She also introduced the national plan of 2013 as well as the main priorities of the ministry on the subject matter and explained how the ministry plans to meet these challenges.

On Tuesday, May 30th, the agenda was full of interesting presentations about the interaction between the youth and the seniors in the Czech society.

Firstly, Mrs.Mestková, representative of the organization Život 90, presented her organization and the position of seniors and the youth in the Czech society from their perspectives. She has highlighted the importance of taking care of seniors before they become pensioners as well as after, due to the fact that most of them will feel less important for society and become frustrated.

Next Mr Jirí Zajíc from the organization NIDM presented the statisctics of growth, significant ageing groups of seniors and elderly people so as to describe the target group of the organization and explained what kind of non-formal activities organization NIDM prepares for this specific group in cooperation with teenagers.  The visit of the National Youth information center and its cooperation with seniors was prepared by Jan Vodicka (NIDM), who later presented the project Bridge over generations and shared the best practices in working with seniors and the youth together, through the use of various games.

The overall topics for the day included:1. A presentation of the the

report from the second meeting, from the Italian coordinator, together with a discussion and feedback.

2. The Poland Partner has presented the evaluation results of the first year. The results of the questionnaires collected in the previous meeting have been discussed , while at the end of the meeting a new survey was conducted.

3. The Finish partner presented the memory pillow z boxies as example of great creativeness in local activities with seniors to record the memories of the seniors through creation of the pillows.

4. The Romanian partner presented the ICT course at seniors homes were the targeted group were the farmers.

5. The Slovak partner disseminated among the coordinators the outcomes of the art work done during various local activities in Turcianske Teplice, and informed the partners about the training course on ICT for local learners in June 2013.

6. On May 31st, the participants had been split into two groups, namely learners and coordinators. The learners visited the Hobbycentrum where various activities were prepared for them and the coordinator’s group; it also started the second coordination meeting to make sure the project runs smoothly in all partner countries.

In order to evaluate the ability of the elderly to utilise technological tools such as computers and internet the partners have decided to conduct a survey in each country on the subject matter.

The model of questionnaire contains the following questions:• Can you recognize English

characters (letters)?• Are you an individual with

Special Needs?• Have you used a PC before /

Navigated the Internet?• If yes, how familiar are you

in using the PC or navigating the Internet?

• For what purpose do you wish to use the PC / navigate the Internet?

• Should you wish to attend classes on Modern Technology, which are your preferred hours of attendance? In case you have spare time, would you be following topic?

The Greek partner presented the questionnaire results in Greece during the meeting. The survey took place in April 2013 in an elderly care center in Moires and the sample consisted of 100 questionnaires.

The project is funded by the LLP Grundtvig partnership and the partnership is made up of many different subjects involved in Adult education. The project’s objectives are to promote the creation of a culture of active ageing as a lifelong process; to ensure that the rapidly-growing population comprised of people who are currently in their late 50s and over have good opportunities for employment and active participation in social and family life, including through volunteering, lifelong learning, cultural expression and sports; and to involve young generations in these activities.The project’s beneficiaries are older and new generations, and institutions. The project will investigate new ways to through different activities:

Research and collection of good practices about the above mentioned topics;Meetings among the partners using participative methodologies, such as the Open Space Technologies;Creation of some elderly-friendly guidelines to approach internet resources;Creation of website about the shared experiences. The project's topics which are the objects of the researches and meetings (which can change according to the partners’ needs and suggestions) are:• ICTs tools for a better ageing, in the field of on line

services for healthcare, transports, social services, adult learning;

• free time activities for an active ageing, in the field of art, languages, culture, creativity;

• volunteering for an active ageing, in the field of environment, social affairs, children, animals;

• ICTs for an active European remembrance, in order to record and share common reminiscences.
