Working safely with this machineis possible only when the operat-ing and safety information areread completely and the instruc-tions contained therein are strictlyfollowed. In addition, the generalsafety instructions in the enclosedbooklet must be followed. Beforeusing for the first time, ask for apractical demonstration. If the mains cable is damaged or cutthrough while working, do nottouch the cable but immediately pullthe mains plug. Never use the ma-chine with a damaged cable.
❏ During vacuuming it is not permitted to ever re-move the flat pleated filter.
❏ The paper filter bag or the membrane filter(special accessories) must be removed whenev-er vacuuming wet dirt.
❏ In the case of non-conductive fluids (e. g. drill-ing emulsions, oils and greases), the unit is notswitched off when the container is full. The filllevel must be regularly checked and the con-tainer emptied before it is too full.
❏ Use only original Würth parts and accesso-ries.

Not all of the accessories illustrated or described are includedas standard delivery.
Intended Use
The unit is designed for vacuuming dry, non-inflam-mable, health hazardous dust from machines anddevices. For damage caused by usage other then intended, the user is responsible.
Before Use
Check for correct mains voltage: The voltage of thepower source must match the voltage specified onthe nameplate of the machine. Equipment markedwith 230 V can also be connected to 220 V.
Fitting the paper filter bag (Figure A)– Unlock and remove the suction head.– Attach the paper filter bag.– Replace the suction head and lock it in place.
Initial Operation
Switching On and Off (Figure B)– Insert the power plug.– Switch on the machine and start using it.– In manual operation mode the switch 2 (Fig. C)
must be in the upper position.
Dry Vaccuming
Manual modeDuring vacuuming it is not permitted to ever removethe flat pleated filter.A paper filter bag or a diaphragm filter (special ac-cessories) can additionally be used to vacuum finedust.
Automatic mode (ISS 35-S and ISS 55-S)– Plug the electric tool‘s power plug into the vacuum
cleaner ( 3, Figure C).– Switch the unit on ( 1).– The switch 2 must be in the lower position.
☞ The vacuum cleaner is automaticallyswitched on and off with the electric tool. The vacuuming device has a start-up delayof up to 0.5 s and a maximum running downtime of up to 15 s.Electrical tools of 100 - 2200 W can be con-nected to the unit.
– Adapt the connection sleeve to the electric tool'sterminal connection (Figure D).
– Remove the pipe bend from the suction hose(Figure E).
– Mount the connection sleeve to the suction hose.– Connect the connection sleeve to the electric tool
(Figure F).
Filter cleanerYour vacuum cleaner is provided with a new type offilter cleaner – especially effective for fine dust. The flat pleated filter is automatically cleaned (puls-ing sound) by an air blast if you press the remotecontrol at the hand grip for several seconds.
Switching on the filter cleaning system (Figure G)– Slide setting 4 - downwards
Actuate the filter cleaning system in regular in-tervals, both during vacuuming operation andwhen finishing work. The dust-producing pow-er tool/machine is to be switched off during fil-ter dedusting.
The filter cleaning system is continuously active, when operating air and power tools with extremenarrow vac port cross-sections. In this case, switchoff the filter cleaning system and use only for shortperiods, as required.

Wet Vacuuming
Fitting rubber squeegees (Figure H)– Dismantle the strip brush 5.– Fit the rubber 6 squeegees.
☞ The profiled surface of the rubber squeegeesmust be on the outside.
– Remove the paper filter bag.– Lug in the power plug.– Switch on the machine and start using it.ISS 55-S:– Drain dirty water using the drain hose (Figure I).
The flat pleated filter must never be removedwhen vacuuming. The paper filter bag or the membrane filter(special accessories) must be removed whe-never vacuuming wet dirt.In the case of non-conductive fluids (e. g.drilling emulsions, oils and greases), the unitis not switched off when the container is full. The fill level must be regularly checked andthe container emptied before it is too full.
Switching off the filter cleaning system (Figure J)– Setting of the slide 4 - upwards.
☞ When vacuuming wet dirt with the upholstrynozzle or the crevice tool, or when mainlypicking up water from out of a container, itis recommended to switch off the filter clean-ing system. The unit turns itself off automatically whenthe max. liquid level has been reached.Switch the unit off and empty the container. After wet vacuuming, clean and dry the flatpleated filter, the electrodes and the drum.

Trouble Shooting
If a fault occurs (e.g. a torn filter), the unit must be immediately switched off. The fault must be remedied before restarting. The suction turbine does not run – Check the cable, plug, fuse and socket.
– Switch the unit on.The suction turbine switches off – Empty the container. The suction turbine does not restart following emptying of the container
– Switch the unit off and wait for 5 s, switch it onagain after 5 s.
– Clean the electrodes as well as the space betweenthem.
The suction power decreases – Remove possible clog-ups or obstructions from suc-tion nozzle, extension wand, hand grip filter clean-ing system, suction hose or flat pleated filter.
– Replace the paper filter bag.– Dedust the flat pleated filter: Actuate the filter clean-
ing system at the hand grip several times.– Engage the filter cover properly.– Replace the flat pleated filter.
Dust is ejected during vacuuming – Check the proper mounting position of the flatpleated filter.
– Replace the flat pleated filter.Automatic cut-out (wet vacuuming) defective – Clean the electrodes as well as the space between
them.– Constantly check the filling level when working with
an electrical non-conductive fluid.Filter cleaning system switches on and off continuously – Detach the blocked suction nozzle or the end of the
hose.– End continuous vacuuming operation out of a fluid
container, or switch off the filter cleaning system re-spectively (see Chapter “Wet Vacuuming”).
– Remove possible clog-ups or obstructions from suc-tion nozzle, extension wand, hand grip filter clean-ing system, suction hose or flat pleated filter.
– Replace the flat pleated filter.

Replace the flat pleated filter or the exhaust air filter (Figure K)– Open the filter cover.– Replace the flat pleated filter 7 or the exhaust air
filter 8.– Close the filter cover, it must engage audibly.
Cleaning the electrodes (Figure L)– Unlock and remove the suction head– Clean the electrodes– Replace the suction head and lock it in placeIf the machine should happen to fail despite the caretaken in manufacture and testing, repair should becarried out by an authorized customer servicesagent for Würth power tools. In all correspondence and spare parts orders, please always include the 6-digit order number giv-en on the nameplate of the machine.
