Technologies & productsThe company has the widest filtration product line that includes a range of technologies and products from home filters through large industrial filters for heavy industry (suitable for the supply of more than 6,000 cubic meters per hour/26,000 GPM per unit). The system generates alerts of developing leaks with unprecedented sensitivity and accuracy, augmented by a Smartphone detection app for in-field precise leak location.

Background of the companyAquarius Spectrum, founded by seasoned engineers from multidisciplinary backgrounds, has developed a paradigm-breaking water leak detection system that promises significant reductions in water loss at low cost. The system is based on a new concept of Water Lifecycle Monitoring (WLM) and achieves levels of detection sensitivity and accuracy together with precise indication of leak location that are not offered by any other current systems. Aquarius Spectrum initially operated under Kinrot Ventures, which has since been acquired by Hutchison Water as part of its global operations.

Examples of projectsThe system is currently operating in two cities in Israel. A total 120 sensors are installed on 67 km of steel pipes providing over 200 correlating sensor couples. The sensors’ average coverage is over 500 meters of pipes per sensor. To date, the sensitivity for leaks larger than 1.5 mm is close to 100%.

Technologies & productsAquarius Spectrum has developed a near real-time, automatic leak detection system based on proprietary algorithms, statistical artifact rejection and a fixed network of wireless acoustic sensors. The sensors are installed at distances of 300-500 on fire hydrants over urban pipe network and use 3G cellular M2M concept and GPS based time synchronization. The software is provided as SaaS (software as a Service).In addition to fixed sensors the company has developed Smartphone-based sensors that function as a mobile survey system or together with the fixed sensors in a multi-layer approach.The unique aspects: system is easily deployed, highly sensitive and the SaaS support translates into maximal use of the system data supplied. The mobile sensors operation concept provides flexibility and ease of use.
