Emanuel Nosakahare Igiebor, also known as “Nosa”, came to Israel after excelling in the ranks of Norwegian team Llillestrom.

During his one season in Hapoel, he was an active force in the team’s first ever appearance in the Europa League Group Stage. Igiebor was also the scorer of the winning goal in the Israeli Cup Final that season.

His excellent performance with the Tel Aviv Reds caught the eye of Spanish team Real Betis.

The Nigerian International, also known in France as the “Monster Cat”, started his career in Israel with Bnei Yehuda, and quickly became one of the most talked about players in Israel.

Hapoel Tel Aviv were the first big team to acquire his services, enjoying his tremendous abilities between the posts for three years before losing the ambitious goalkeeper to French side Lille on a free transfer.

After a poor first year in France, Enyeama returned to Israel on loan and played one year for Maccabi Tel Aviv. Despite the club’s attempts to keep him, Enyeama decided to try his luck in France again in season 2013/2014.

This season, Enyeama gave an exceptional performance in France, almost breaking the clean sheet record and winning the “Best African Player in France” award.

In 2001, the Ghana international seemed to be on his way to a stellar career. He had just signed for Greek champions Panathanaikos, and led Ghana to an unforgettable U-20 World Cup campaign which ended with a loss to Argentina in the finals.

But in 2002, Boateng couldn't hold on to his first team shirt, and moved to mid-level team OFI Crete. After he couldn’t fit in there as well, he had re-located to Sweden where he joined AIK Solna in August 2003, where he finally showed some of his potential.

Boateng’s great ability in Sweden caught the eye of scout Dudu Dahan, who persuaded him to join the Israeli club Beitar Jerusalem.

Boateng’s landing in the holy land was the jumpstart to a successful European career - Boateng went on to join Bundesliga’s FC Cologne, and later also played for Getafe & Fulham.

The then-Argentinian, now Israeli striker joined Maccabi Haifa in 2004 from Boca Juniors.

He quickly turned from a semi-known name in Argentina to an all-star in Israel, finishing as the league’s top goalscorer on his first season in the club.

He went on to play 90 league matches for Maccabi Haifa, scoring 39 goals. He also won two championship titles with The Greens and was a key part of their successful UEFA Cup campaign in 06/07.

Colautti’s form earned him a naturalization request from the Israeli association, which made Coluatti a part of the Israeli national team.

At the end of the season, Teixeira went on to play for strong Swiss side FC Zurich, while significantly improving his terms.

began his career in Zambia at the Lusaka Mayuka, Kabwe Born inAcademy at the age of 11. In 2007, he joined Kabwe Warriors, one of the biggest clubs in Zambia.

At the end of that year, The Zambian international moved to Maccabi Tel Aviv in what would turn out to be one of the club’s wisest decisions to date.

Mayuka quickly shined in Maccabi Tel Aviv, becoming a prominent force in it’s attack and overcoming well known names such as Yanick Kamanan for a place in the starting eleven.

The Zambian’s ability caught the eye of Swiss runners-up BSC Young Boys, who signed him for €1,500,000 in 2010.

Mayuka currently plays for Southampton, after being purchased by the Premier League side for €5,000,000.

After playing for Nigerian team Kaduna United for four seasons, Ambrose was discovered by Israeli agent Dudu Dahan and brought to Israel for trials with small club M.S Ashdod.

After impressing in the trials, the Nigerian international was signed with the intent of positioning him in mid-defense. But after being disappointed with the team’s defensive midfielder, Ambrose was tried in that position – A brilliant play by manager Yossi Mizrahi that gave a significant push to Ambrose’s career.

Although playing for a small club, Ambrose was still able to catch the eye of Scottish mega club Celtic. The Scotts signed Ambrose to a three-year contract in 2012, and have since decided to improve his terms as a sign of their satisfaction.

After arriving rather anonymous to Maccabi Haifa in 1998, Yakubu had a magnificent 5 year spell in Israel. Yakubu was the key player behind Israel’s first ever appearance in the Champions League Group Stage, after scoring the both goals in Maccabi Haifa’s crucial win against Sturm Graz.

Yakubu went on to set a transfer record in Israel by moving to the Premier league side in 2003 for a whapping €5,400,000 + percentages of every future deal.

These percentages proved to be very lucrative for Haifa, as Yakubu went on to have an illustrious career in England, playing for Middleborough, Everton and Leicester, with Maccabi Haifa earning another estimated €4,500,000.
