Follow all safety codes. Wear safety glasses and work gloves. Have a fire extinguisher available. DO NOT power or fill the boiler with water. It is best practice to install this kit BEFORE powering or filling the boiler. If the boiler IS powered and/or filled with water, turn off power to the boiler, and valve it off to isolate it from the system. Then drain the boiler. Close the drain valve after draining. Valve Orientation: The valve can be oriented in any position as long as the actuator does not go below the horizontal plane. See the orientation guide from Belimo attached to the valve. Installing the Valve on ELX-400 - 1000 Models: 1. Use pipe dope / tape to thread one of the 2” flanges onto the supply pipe of the boiler. 2. Install the isolation valve using the supplied bolts and washers. 3. Install the other 2” flange to the isolation valve using the supplied bolts and flange. See Figure 1. NOTE: A separate service valve MUST be installed for each boiler. Do not overtighten any of the bolts as this may damage the threads and prevent the bolts from turning. Replacement bolts are not included in this kit. These valves DO NOT qualify as service valves. Preparing for Installation:When working on heating equipment, observe all precautions in the literature, on tags, and on labels attached to the boiler. Follow all safety codes. Wear safety glasses and work gloves. Have a fire extinguisher available.DO NOT power or fill the boiler with water. It is best practice to install this kit BEFORE powering or filling the boiler. If the boiler IS powered and/or filled with water, turn off power to the boiler, and valve it off to isolate it from the system. Then drain the boiler. Close the drain valve after draining.

Valve Orientation:The valve can be oriented in any position as long as the actuator does not go below the horizontal plane. See the orientation guide from Belimo attached to the valve.

Installing the Valve on ELX-400 - 1000 Models:1. Use pipe dope / tape to thread one of the 2” flanges onto the

supply pipe of the boiler.2. Install the isolation valve using the supplied bolts and washers. 3. Install the other 2” flange to the isolation valve using the supplied

bolts and flange. See Figure 1.NOTE: A separate service valve MUST be installed for each boiler.

Do not overtighten any of the bolts as this may damage the threads and prevent the bolts from turning. Replacement bolts are not included in this kit.

These valves DO NOT qualify as service valves. Installing the Valve on ELX-1500 - 2000 Models:Install the isolation valve using the supplied bolts and washers. See Figure 2.NOTE: A separate service valve MUST be installed for each boiler.

Starting the Boiler, Test Instructions, and Instructions for Opening the Valve if Valve Fails:1. Turn the water supply on and refill the boiler. Check for leaks around the boiler, installed components, and associated piping. Fill and purge as described in the boiler installation manual. Ensure all air is purged before proceeding.

WARNING!The boiler must be full of water before it is powered. Failure to ensure the boiler is full of water could result in substantial property damage, serious personal injury, or death.

2. Power on the boiler.

To Test the Valve:1. Enter Service Mode. Service Mode can be accessed from the Home Screen or by scrolling through the Installer Settings. Input Access Code 928 when prompted to enter Service Mode.2. Toggle the Boiler Pump ON. The isolation valve will open when the pump engages.3. If the isolation valve does not open, toggle the Boiler Pump OFF. Turn power off to the boiler and check wiring.4. After wiring is corrected, restore power to the boiler, enter Service Mode, and toggle the Boiler Pump ON again.

If the Valve or Valve Power Should Fail:1. Insert the included handle into the valve. See Figure 8.2. Turn the handle clockwise until the valve fully opens (until the handle will not turn any more). Then toggle the switch on the valve to lock it open. See Figure 9. Heat transfer fluid will now be able to circulate through the system.3. To close the valve, simply toggle the switch from locked to unlocked. The valve will return to the closed position. See Figure 10.
