Types of Promoted Posts

• Sponsored Story– An ad that appears to come from a friend about

them, engaging with a page, app, or event that a business, organization, or individual has paid to highlight.

• Page Post Ad– An ad that can be shown to everyone on Facebook and gets

additional paid distribution among fans.

• Promoted Post or “Boost”– A regular post by an individual or company that is “boosted”

into a type of ad so that extends its reach by getting shown to more friends or fans (or friends of fans, or more) on a flat rate.
