Students sit regular assessment tests three times a year in a range of subjects. These assessment tests are created by the subject teacher based on the topics taught in class. Years 2 to 8 sit Cambridge Progression Tests in English, Mathematics and Science in the third term. The Progression Tests are standardized exams for Primary and Secondary 1 students which are set by the Cambridge Examination Board. Teachers mark the papers internally according to the marking scheme which is provided by Cambridge. All marks will be entered to the Progress Checker which is as a new tool to analyze students’ performance and to give feedback to you as parents enabling you to trace the progress of your child in the years to come. The usual routine will be to have all the papers for the different stages at the end of the school year. As you may have seen in previous years these tests are of a high standard. The syllabus for English and Mathematics have been condensed in the Primary section and the syllabus for Science in the years 6 to 8 to allow completion of the programmes at the end of Year 8. For the report card at the end of the school year every subject teacher will comment and grade the student’s performance of all three terms. The print-out of the Progress Checker will be given out with the report card to show the results of the Progression Tests and state areas which need practice. Please note that the Progression Tests will not be given back to the students and we do not offer possibilities to see the papers. Year 9 and 10 students prepare for their IGCSE exams in the spring session of Year 10.. Their AT in all exam subjects which are designed by the respective subject teacher usually consists of questions from
