The cutting edge of our Irwin BlueBlade is hardened to 65-66 HrC wheremost carbon blades typically havea hardness of 58-62 HrC.

HARDNESSThe High Speed Steel cuttingedge can be hardened to greaterhardness for longer life and edge sharpness.

BIMETAL BLADEBimetal is formed by electron welding two different types of steel together to achieve the benefits of both types.

Spring steel backing combined with cutting edge made from Matrix High Speed Steel (8% Cobalt) guarantees 3 times longer life (verified by STR Independent Laboratories).

PATENTEDThe bimetal construction ispatented and no other manufacturercan offer bimetal trapezoid blades.

IDENTIFICATIONThe blue Irwin print makes our bladesstand out and easy to recognise in the store.

SAFERThe spring steel backing combined withdual hardening of the blade makes ourblade extremely flexible (blade back ishardened less than cutting edge – 46 HrC).

Severe abuse can make our blade shear, but unlike other blades it will NEVER shatter. This is a great safety feature.

The Carbon blade range includes hook blades.
