In 1970, Canon introduced the NP copier line. It was a stand alone copier and allowed users to perform walk-up operations.

C5000 Series models include similar technology as imagePRESS

color control technologies to help prevent a shift in the hue and help

set and maintain a low delta-E.

Gradation & Density Adjustment (Test Print) – Performed in Full Adjustment

•

Test prints stored in memory are printed on separate sheets, each of which is scanned from the scanner to measure and adjust the actual gradation patterns.

•

This will adjust the max density point of the toner based on the white point of the paper.

Gradation Adjustment (ITB) – Performed in Full/Quick Adjustment

•

CMYK gradation patterns stored in memory are registered onto the ITB, and then the sensor measures the actual gradation of each color to adjust the measured results to the precise patterns.

•

This will not adjust the density of the toner but will not recreate the max density point as white point will not be re-created.


Real Time CalibrationReal Time Calibration•

Uses sensors to measure the density levels of toner•

Measurements are taken every 100pages during the job or if less than 100 page, every post rotating after 70pages printed.

Capable of measuring the absolute values of inaccuracies in gradation and density by using color patches registered on the transfer belt surface so toner density is adjusted in real time, which helps to render images more faithfully without compromising the overall productivity.

Document Scan Lock and Tracking

The Document Scan Code Analyzer for MEAP allows system administrators to track who, when and with which device the document was copied or printed by simply scanning the document containing the hidden tracking code on the

device. •

Only authorized personnel such as a system administrator can lookup the tracking information found within the hidden tracking code on the document by entering the required password.

This feature allows departments to track of where copied/printed

output document was originated and help stop information leakage.

C5000 Series, we will have an even stronger environmental focus than in our current product line to improve the carbon footprint.

These products incorporate a new bio-based plastic material. This innovative plant-derived material will be used on some of the exterior plastic parts and is expected to reduce manufacturing-related C02 emissions by approximately 20%. A number of elements have been incorporated to reduce waste, a smaller and lighter design of the product as well as the controller board, which has been significantly reduced in size.

C5000 Series will consume less energy, in some cases as low as 1W through the use of innovative Advanced Color RAPID Fusing Technology and other energy saving features, enabling Canon to meet and even exceed the new 2009 Energy Star standards and guidelines.

Cadmium Reduction•

RoHS states that more than 100PPM of cadmium used in the contact of electric parts is allowable. Canon has minimized

the usage of cadmium to 100PPM or less in the contact of electric parts.

Halogen-free Printed Circuit Board•

Canon is advancing the adoption of halogen-free printed circuit board instead of printed circuit boards

containing halogen substances

that are normally used.

Lead Reduction•

RoHS allows more than 1,000PPM of lead in metallic parts made from steel, copper, and aluminium materials. (Up to 3,500PPM in steel materials, 40,000PPM in copper materials, 4,000PPM in aluminium materials)

However, Canon has minimized

the usage of steel, copper, and aluminium materials to 1,000PPM or less of these metals in the mechanical parts (except for electric/electronic parts).

Canon uses Lead-free steel and brass to exceed RoHS guidelines.
