The Time is Now! Today, the framework is being put in place to ensure that South Dakota State University Athletics continues to be successful.

Our Vision for Jackrabbit Athletics To be a premier student-centered collegiate athletic program. Develop high-quality, modern practice and competition facilities to

provide our more than 450 student-athletes the opportunity to compete and excel at the highest levels, both athletically and academically.

The Principles that have guided the development of this plan are: To provide student-athletes the best opportunity to become lifelong

champions, to compete and succeed at the conference and NCAA championship level, and to achieve academic success;

To optimize the quality of overall student-athlete experience, student-life experience, coaching and staff experience and fan experience;

To assure financial integrity; To align with the university's strategic plan and the strategic goal to

expand the reach of the university; To align with the university's 2025 Facility Master Plan; and To develop the intercollegiate athletics functional area in the northeast

section of campus.

Multi-Use Indoor Training Facility Extension of the Dykhouse Student-Athlete Center. 300 meter indoor track capable of hosting state, conference and national

competitions. Indoor practice and training space for football and other outdoor sports. 80 yard synthetic field to accommodate indoor events such as high school 9-

man football games also could be played in the facility.

Human Performance Facilities State-of-the-art space for sports medicine, orthopedics, athlete performance,

and rehabilitation. Facilities to help strengthen the campus and community relationships by

expanding undergraduate and graduate academic experiences and research in such areas as athletic training, physical therapy and nutrition.
