iomiraq.net [email protected] 1 IDP CRISIS IN IRAQ IOM EMERGENCY RESPONSE ACTIVITY REPORT ASSESSMENTS: DISPLACEMENT TRACKING MATRIX RAPID ASSESSMENTS AND REPORTS FROM THE FIELD IOM connues to collect accurate displacement data on the ongoing displacement crisis through the implementaon of the DTM and DTM+ by Rapid Assessment and Response Teams (RART). On 16th July, the total number of IDP families that had been idenfied since the beginning of June stood at 68,049 (408,294 individuals). DTM+ and full DTM assessments are ongoing and field teams will connue to update displacement figures and trends on a biweekly basis. Full DTM assessments from June and July, as well as an update of DTM+, will be published in early August. For a more detailed account of past DTM assessments, please refer to our website: www.iomiraq.net/dtm-page SADR CITY, BAGHDAD On 21st July, IOM RART personnel, in coordinaon with the Ministry of Migraon and Displacement (MoMD), visited 92 mostly Turkmen Shia IDP families displaced from Telafar, who had arrived the day before. IOM assessed their living condions and needs, while MoMD carried out official registraon. Many families are living in schools, receiving some food, clothing, maresses, and blankets from the host community. Some older individuals have chronic diseases, heart disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure and need access to health care. There were also 3 pregnant women and 2 disabled men. CHRISTIAN DISPLACEMENT FROM MOSUL IOM team members reported that on 18th and 19th July, approximately 150 Chrisan families fled their homes in Mosul City. The majority fled to Al-Hamdaniyah and Tilkaif districts, with a few entering the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI). Over the past week, IOM assisted Chrisan IDP families in Bartalah and in Qaraqosh with 4 NFI distribuons. QADISSIYA During a joint IOM/MoMD/Provincial Council field visit, RART personnel in Qadissiya reported that more than 50 families had arrived on 22 July, with all of them currently living in mosques. 20 families were located in Ghammas in Al-Shamiya district, while 30 were in Diwaniya district. Most had come from Telafar district of Ninewa and were from the Turkmen ethnicity. Families confirmed that IOM was the first agency to visit them, and requested the supply of emergency relief items, a request that the Team will follow up on as soon as possible. On 23 July, an addional 20 families arrived from Telafar to Diwaniya district, and are staying in mosques. 470 IDP families have been displaced to Qadissiya since June; 350 are officially registered. KHANAQIN, DIYALA Reports received by IOM RART personnel indicate 5,128 families in Khanaqin displaced from several locaons within Diyala, including Al- Muqdadiyah, Ba’quba, Arab Jabour, Mansourieh, Zargosh and Nofal. A flash report on the ongoing displacement situaon will be issued in the coming days. 17 July - IOM staff in Khanaqin, Diyala visited Aleaoh camp, hosng over 700 IDP families.
