WHAT IS A WEBQUEST ?

• A WebQuest is an Internet-based research and learning project that has four characteristics:• First, it is based on learning that is

going on in your classroom.• Second, the internet sites and

sources you use are pre-selected by your teacher. They provide the information you need to complete your mission. You do not wander around the internet on your own.

• Third, a WebQuest requires you to collect information but emphasizes using the information.

• you must use higher-order thinking (analysis, creativity, or criticism) rather than just acquiring factual information(lower order thinking skills) to complete the webquest. Fourth, WebQuests are generally done with a group or partner but can be done alone.
