    Inventory Control Panel

    Welcome to Inventory Control Panel v4

    With this new and exciting tool you can manage online inventory and control theway it displays on your website. Maintain your list of dealer options, specificationsand activities; then use them to further detail an inventory item. View, create, andcustomize highly-flexible reports that can contain any and every aspect of yourinventory.

    To access the inventory control panel, go to: http://admin.dealers.com.Enter user ID/Password in the space provided and click on the Login Button.

    Inventory Management

    Inventory Items can be quickly added, deleted or modified usingtools that are listed in the Inventory Column.

    To view current listings in the ICP Click on “View Inventory”.

    Inventory Listings

    Inventory Items can be quickly added, deleted or modified usingtools that are listed in the Inventory Column.

    To view current listings in the ICP Click on “View Inventory”.

    Select “Listings” from theInventory drop-down menu.

    A list of inventory units willbe displayed. Navigate the listwith the scroll bar that appearson the right or by using thearrow buttons that displaybelow the listings.

    Further specify inventory searches by selecting the check box that appears next toeach listed option or by indicating a date range as to when unit(s) were created orlast modified. Choose from the convenient shortcuts to quickly conduct searches fortoday, yesterday, the past week and the past month by select the applicable link.

    Search Inactive Listings:Includes only inactive inventory listings

    Case Sensitive: Generates a case sensitive search

    Search children locations:Looks for results in children locationlistings.

    Use Wildcards in Searches:Adds a wildcard to the beginning and end ofthe entered search string. Meaning a searchon "2345" for Stock # will return a singleStock # if it matches but, using wildcards, itwill also return a Stock # of "12345" and"23456789".

    Boats Without Price/Photo/HullMaterial/Fuel Type:Lists inventory unitsthat have no value in the Price/Photo/HullMaterial/Fuel Typefield

    Search Listings

    Inventory search tools are located directly below the inventory listings.These may be used to conduct customized inventory searches. By default,the search field is set to “Stock Number”, however, this can changed by clickingon the drop down arrow and choosing another from the list.After a selection ismade, enter search criteria in the provided space and select “Search”.

    Customize Inventory

    Adding and modifying details may be done from this page. Most of these fieldsare editable. If so, the curser will look like a hand when over that field. To makea change, click on the desired field, enter/edit details and click on “Update”.Fields that read “No Value Specified” will be omitted from the inventory detailpage unless a value is entered.

    Inventory Photo Management

    To upload, delete and manageinventory photos, click on“Photo Management” link.The Inventory photo windowwill open for the for selectedunit.

    To upload images, use the “Browse” button to locate picture and click “add”.Repeat process until every desired image has been added, then click on the“Upload” button.

    Once uploaded, images will be listed and available formanagement in the “Inventory Photos” table.

    Use the sequencecolumn drop-down tomanage the order ofthe pictures in theimage gallery. Todesignate an imageas the thumbnail thatdisplays in inventorylistings, change itssequence to “1”.

    To edit specs, click “Specifications.”Enter values for each applicableitem in the list that appears. Click“Save Changes” when finished.

    To add/edit, click “activities”. In pop up window move applicable activitiesfrom “Available” to “Display” by using the move left and move right arrows.Click “Save Changes”.

    Select “Key Features.”"Set Key Features" window appears. 10 features can beadded at a time, with up to 3000 characters possible foreach. As each set of 10 is added, another set is available.Click “Save” when finished.

    Adding Inventory

    Add units to online inventory by clicking on the applicable link. If “Add Brokerage”has been chosen, be certain the website has a link to display brokerage inventory.Once a link has been selected the inventory fields page displays.

    Required fields display on the left and values must be entered for each.Make selections from the choices displayed in the drop down menus andenter a stock number.

    Deleted Inventory

    To display a log of deleted inventory units is click here. The deletedunits will be listed here for 90 days and cannot be extracted.

    Search Engine

    Tools listed in the Search Engine Column give you complete control over the way yourinventory is displayed on your website. Most of the text displayed is customizable, aswell as the listing page columns, default sort column and order, number of recordsper page, detail page items, order of the search criteria, and much more.

    ChannelBlade Technologies launched your website with default values for bothyour display orders and text customization fields. If you are happy with the defaultsettings you receive on your site, you will never have to use this administration tool.As you preview the various options within this application, you will notice the defaultsettings awaiting your proposed changes.

    Display Order

    Select Display order and you will be you will beprompted to define which ‘Search Type’ you willbe customizing.

    ‘New’ applies to your New Inventory search engine.‘Almost New’ applies to your Almost New or UsedInventory search engine. ‘Brokerage’ applies toyour Brokerage Inventory search engine. The‘New/Almost New/Brokerage’ option applies to asearch engine that will encompass all three typesof inventory.

    After selecting a search type toorder, you will be prompted witha series of lists that containpossible options for the inventorydisplay. The left list containsavailable fields to add to theright list, which is the display list.You will notice that the right listis auto-populated with yourdefault values on first-time use.You can use the ‘Move Right’ and‘Move Left’ buttons to movefields from ‘Available’ to ‘Display’.You can use the up and downarrows on the far right of each‘Display’ list to order the itemswithin that list.

    NOTE: 'Full Name' MUST beselected for display as a Resultfield. You must select at leastone Search/Result/Detail field tobe displayed.

    Edit Text

    After selecting a search type to order, you will be prompted with a series of textboxes that contain your customizable text. Changing the text for certain areas of yoursearch engine is as simple as it seems. There is a maximum of 250 characters oneach of the fields. The text boxes contain default text for the available customizablechoices.

    Select Edit and you will be you will be prompted todefine which ‘Search Type’ you will be customizing.

    Extra Options

    Select the Extra Options link to manage the number ofdays a “Sold” inventory unit will remain active and displayon the website.

    “At A Glance” should always be the first page you click on upon entering thisapplication. This overview page will provide you with a quick and painlesshigh-level look at your inventory.

    If you have multiple locations, you will have the option of selecting whichlocations you would like to view data for.

    Upon entering the application for the first time, you will see the default reportsChannelBlade provides under the “Current Reports” heading. Feel free to run,edit, or even delete these. They are meant to be a guide for you in understandingthis application but may provide you with useful information as well.

    To create an inventory report, enter a title in the provided area.

    If you have multiple locations, you will have the option to select which locationsto include on the inventory report. Choose each applicable location from the list.

    Next, choose which columns to display about your inventory. A typical sales reportmay include price, length, and condition while a report for sold inventory may includesold date, price, and date entered.

    Select a report template from those available in the drop-down menu.Then, you have the option of applying filters to your report. Filters can be used tofurther refine a report to only display certain data. Interest has been expressed fordisplaying only one inventory item with a report. You can accomplish this by filteringon a field that is most likely unique to an inventory item, like “Stock Number”. You donot have to apply any filters. Each filter defaults to the like (%=) choice with nothingtyped into the associated text box.

    Once you click “Save Report”, your report will be saved and you will bedirected to the “Manage Reports” page where you can run or edit the report.

    On this page you can manage reports by clicking their respective button labeled“Edit”, “Run”, “Archive” or “Delete”.

    When deleting a report you will be prompted by a confirmation box to ensure animportant report is not deleted. Click on the “Run” icon to run a report and click onthe “Edit” button to edit the respective report. You must follow through the entireprocess to edit any part of a report and click “Finish” at the end for the changes tobe saved.

    NOTE: Perhaps you will find it prudent to keep only your most useful reports in your"Current Reports" list. The reports here will be listed on "In the News" so it is nice tokeep this list small and unobtrusive. We recommend that you list no more than six(6) reports in this list otherwise it may make the "In the News" page difficult to read.Archived reports are no different in functionality than Current reports except they willnot show up on "In the News". Move reports to the “Archived Reports” list if they areseldom used to be kept for later use.

    Options/Equipment is where your list of dealer options is stored. By maintaining thislist, you can add options to inventory units by selecting the appropriate options ratherthan having to repeatedly type the same options for each inventory item.

    You can delete or edit categories from this page. If you delete a category, be awarethat all options and equipment associated with this category will also be deleted. Youwill be prompted after clicking ‘Delete’ to be sure you are aware of the consequences.Thus, to delete your entire list, you only have to delete all the categories and you willin effect remove all of your categories, options, and equipment. Categories are usedto separate and distinguish dealer options for better display.

    You can change a category by clicking on the edit button. Once a category has beensaved it cannot be changed to an option or equipment. Editing will allow you tochange other attributes of the category, however. When editing a category, you willhave the option of applying existing options and equipment to the category. Keep inmind that this will create a separate instance of the added options and/or addedequipment. The options and/or equipment added will be listed under this categoryalso.

    You can delete or edit options from this page. Options are to be used specifically fordealer options applied by your dealership to an item in inventory. Options cannot beentered outside of a category. Thus, if a category is deleted, all options containedunder it will ALSO be removed.

    You can change an option by clicking on the edit button. Once an optionhas been saved it cannot be changed to a category or equipment. Editingwill allow you to change other attributes of the option, however.

    When editing an option, you will have the option to copy it under severalcategories by multiple selecting in the category box. Keep in mind that thiswill create a separate instance of the option under each category. You candelete an option from a category by unselecting the appropriate category inthis box. The option will show up under EACH category it has been added to.

    You can delete or edit equipment from this page. OEM equipment is used specificallyto emulate Factory Installed Options, Enhancement Packages, and Standard Featuresfor a manufacturer that has not entered their option data with us.

    You can change equipment by clicking on the edit button. Once equipmenthas been saved it cannot be changed to a category or option. Editing willallow you to change other attributes of the equipment, however.

    The specs/activities tools have been designed to accommodate the growing needfor more detailed listings. You can create new and exciting specifications that, oncecreated, can be used to further detail an inventory item. You will also have the abilityto manage your own specification and activities lists as well as create a default orderfor the specifications.

    Add New Specifications

    Create a new specification easily and without hassle.Once created, values can be added per inventory itemin the ICP. The description is optional but be carefulbecause no two specifications can have the same name.It’s just a little check we do on your behalf.

    Manage Specifications

    The list of Specifications that display in the ICP can bemanaged from this page. Use the “Edit” button to makechanges and the “Delete” button to remove a specificationfrom the list.

    Specification Sequence

    Creating a default order for your specifications can be quite useful. Whenspecifications are added to specific inventory items, you will have the abilityto order them on a per inventory basis in the ICP. However, creating a defaultorder you are comfortable with now will save you time in the future by copyingthe specifications down to your inventory items in this order. On inventory addedfor which we maintain manufacturer data, the manufacturer desired sequencewill be used. Use the drop-down menu that displays in the “Sequence” columnto indicate the order of a particular specification.

    Add New Activity

    To add new activities to the list in ICP,click on the “Add New Activity Link”.

    Enter a name and a descriptionin the provided space. To save theactivity, click on the “Finish” buttonand you will be rerouted to the“Manage Activities” page.

    Manage Activities

    Activities can be managed from this page. Use the “Edit” button to modify the nameor description entry. To remove an activity from those listed, click on the “Delete”button.
