and Industrial Automation.

MVJ College of Engineering, Department of Electronics and Communication

Engineering organized a four day workshop and training on “Introductory Training

on Robotics using ATMEGA” on 01-03-2018 and 02-03-2018. The training was

handled by Mr. Shakti Singh Chauhan- Trainer, Robolab Technologies, Pune. The

event was coordinated by Mr. Bhanuteja G. and Ms. Varsha P- Assistant Professors,

Department of Electronics and Communication. 34 first year students attended this

training program.

The Details of the workshop are as follows:

Day 1: The first day of workshop started with an introduction to Robotics and basic

electronic components. The students were introduced to Atmega8 Micro controller,

programming using Code Vision AVR software to flash the program on the Micro

Controller. Students were also familiarized with the concepts of PORT, PIN, and

Input-Output ports.

Post lunch the students were asked to assemble a simple robot and interface it with

microcontroller. This enabled the students to get a hands-on training on handling the

various tools used in the lab, assembling of the robot and interfacing it with the

microcontroller.

Day 2: The second day of the workshop started with the basic concepts of

communication and wireless communications. Students were trained to write the

coding for the same. Students were also trained to program DC motors, LEDs.

The first year students were given a brief insight on various wheels that can be used

in Robots. They were also provided training on the use of various components on

Robot like - relays, battery and bluetooth module. The students finally downloaded

their programs and operated the robot “ROBOMAN” successfully using Bluetooth.

The workshop ended successfully with a valedictory session attended by the

Principal, faculties from the Department of Electronics and Communication and

students. Around 34 students from various departments were trained on the basic
