Summary of Engineering Design 3

1. Engineering Design 3 will run throughout both trimester 1 and 2.

2. Team projects

– 6-8 students per team

– Students choose their own projects within a theme

– Students do NOT choose their team members, academics do

– Improved teams (organised member roles and responsibilities)

3. Mentors instead of Supervisors

4. Lectures

– Lectures topics and teachings parallel with project process

5. Project Assessment

– Team and Individual

6. Trade Fair

Project Themes

Project Themes (Section 3, pg15)

1. Harnessing Human Body Energy

2. In-Car/Flight Entertainment

3. Portable Communications

4. Intelligent Homes

5. Teaching Aids

6. Renewable Energy*Each team will be required to submit two completely separate project proposals from any two

Themes.
