Tidewell welcomes Wrigley, our second robotic sealTidewell is thrilled to have TWO robotic seals for use with our patients diagnosed with memory disorders. Wrigley will “live” at our Port Charlotte office. Harper will live in Manatee County. If you are a volunteer willing to visit multiple patients in nursing homes or assisted-living facilities in those areas with the robotic seal, please contact your volunteer coordinator. We need volunteers willing to do multiple visits at one or two facilities to maximize the usage of the seals. Instructions on how to care for the seals will be given in a training. Seals will be dropped off and picked up from the designated office so that multiple volunteers may engage with them.

Venice Hospice House garden dedicated to volunteer Julia OsborneTidewell Hospice held a dedication ceremony and thanked a very special donor and volunteer on April 4 at the Venice Hospice House. The picturesque Remembrance Walkway and Serenity Garden was dedicated to Julia Solleveld Osborne. The plaque was unveiled by Julie’s grandchildren, Krystian and Evelyn, at the end of a ceremony at the hospice house gazebo. Julie told an audience of family, friends and Tidewell colleagues and volunteers, “May all of your gardens continue to grow and bloom.” Julie has given more than 1,000 hours of her time as a Tidewell volunteer. She has started the Julia Solleveld Osborne Endowed Children Services Fund, and she provided the seed money for Tidewell’s new nurse residency program.Volunteer Michelle Kemps holds Wrigley, the new PARO® robotic seal.
