Performance NotesLight Of Christ is the result of an attempt to write something that could be sung fromAdvent /Christmas through Lent /Easter /Pentecost while keeping the R.C.I.A. central to thecommunity experience.

This piece, with its gospel feel, is well-suited for almost any type of liturgy, from formal toless formal. Although it was originally conceived with piano accompaniment, guitar can alsoaccompany effectively. Correct tempo is a very important element: too slow a tempo willcause the piece to become boring, and too fast a tempo will diminish the impact of the song’spotential. The piano part is meant only to be a guide and not strictly followed. It should get abit busier each time through. Although electric guitar was used as a solo instrument on therecording “Here With Us Now,” soprano or tenor saxophone sounds great on this piece! Havefun with it!
