An active InThrMa EMS account with connected thermostats 2. An active Think Ministry account with events populated in the calendar 3. Establish an OAuth token per http://www.thinkministry.com/kb/develop/oauth/ 4. The API end point for your TM account (ex: https://connect.mychurch.com/ministryplatformapi/tables/) 5. Up-to-date floor plan diagram of your church w/ thermostats indicated Step Instructions 1 Starting at the Main Menu, click the Calendar icon… and then click on the Worship Edition tab 2 Working from top to bottom, we will configure InThrMa EMS Worship Edition setup parameters 3 Calendar Type – select: “Think Ministry”

5 SpacesThisisaonetimeprocesswhereyoumapeachspacethatcanbescheduledtoacorrespondingthermostat.ThisprocessallowsWorshipEditiontoknowwhichthermostat/scontrolwhichspaces.
• Aspacemayhavemultiplethermostats–example:yourgymnasiummighthave4thermostats• Athermostatsmaycontrolmultiplespaces–example:theClassroomsthermostatmaycontroltheHVACin6
differentclassrooms• Aspacemayhaveasinglethermostat
Thismappingmustbeaccurateasitwillaffectallfurtheroperations.Asrenovationsandorfloorplanchangeshappenatyourchurch,besuretokeepthismappinguptodateandaccurate.
6 EventSetpointsYouwillspecifyyourglobaltemperaturepreferencesforspaceswhenoccupied.Specifyyourheat&coolsetpoints.FanusuallystaysonAuto
7 UnoccupiedSetpointsLeavethisblankunlessyouusePelicanWirelessorRadioThermostatbrandthermostat.Thisreflectsyourunoccupiedtemperaturepreferenceswhenspacesarenotinuse.

9 EventEndSaverOptional:specifyasmallamountoftime.Wewillendeacheventearly(byspecifiedduration).Helpsyouderiveadditionalsavingsoverthecourseofacoolingorheatingseason.
10 SundaySkipPriorSpecifywhattimeyourSundayAMworshipservicesconclude.YourSundayworshipschedulewillbeputinthethermostat’sbase(built-in)schedule.Anycalendareventsfoundinthecalendarpriortothisthresholdwillbeskippedandhandledbythebuilt-inschedule.Anycalendareventsfoundafterthisthreshold,willbeprocessed.
11 Thesystemwillruneveryhour,onthehour,tocheckandsyncyourThinkMinistrycalendarwithyourHVACsystem

FloorplanPleaseannotateafloorplandiagramwiththeapproximatelocationofeachthermostatandideallyincludecolorcodedHVACzones.Thiswillbeaninvaluabletoolforcustomizingthesystemanddiscussingsystemoperations.PleaseuploadthisfiletoyourInThrMaEMSaccountusingthe“Files”tabfoundalongtheleftedgeofanypageonInThrMaEMSonceloggedin.
CustomRulesEverychurchfacilityhasuniqueneedsfortemperatures,fanoperations,etc.PleasethinkaboutsuchneedsanddocumentthemsothatwecanworktoimplementanycustomHVACprogramminglogicperyourneeds.Example:openbasketballinthegymshouldhavecoolersummertempsduetothebodyheat

BaseThermostatProgrammingThermostatprogrammingfallsinto3categories:
1. SundayWorship–weusethethermostat’sbuilt-inschedulefortheareasofthechurchincludedinyourSundayAMworshipschedule.
2. Weekdayofficehours–weusethethermostat’sbuilt-inschedulefortheareasofthechurchwhereyourweekdayofficehourstakeplace(aswellasanyK-12/educationalprograms)
3. Calendarbasedevents(WorshipEdition)–InThrMaEMSWorshipEditionhandlesallothereventsfoundinyourcalendar.Asidefromthetwoabovetimeblocks/categoriesyourthermostatsshouldbesettotheirunoccupiedtemperatures(ex:heat:60º/cool:89º)theremainderofthetime.
Example:SanctuarythermostatscheduleMon-Sat:24hrs/day:heat:60º/cool89ºSunday:7AM-1PM:heat:69º/cool72º“2AMprogramming”Somethermostatmodelsstillhaveabaseschedule–theschedulethattheynativelyoperatewith.Insuchcases,thebaseschedulecannotbeshutoff.Toavoidhavingabasescheduleinterferewithyoureventprogramming/WorshipEdition,wewillsetyourbaseprogrammingtomakeanysetpointchangesinthemiddleofthenight(ex:2AM)asopposedtodaytimewheneventsmaybeinprogress.

PassThrough&MergedEventsAspartofthesetupprocess,wewillstudyyourfloorplansandbuildingusepatternstodefine“PassThrough”spaces.Entrances,hallways,bathrooms,etcthatwillneedtobeconditionedforeventsoccurringinyourfacilities.TheseHVACeventswillshowupautomaticallyinInThrMaEMSwiththe“(PT)“prefix.When2eventsoccurbacktobackormultipleeventsoccurinthesamespace,InThrMaEMSwillconsolidateHVACprogrammingtothelogicalstart/endtimesofthecorrespondingevents.Insuchinstancesyouwillsee“[Merged]“appearinfrontofthecombinedeventname.
Ad-hocusageDuringsetupwewilldiscusshowyouwishtohandlead-hocspaceusage.ThetimeswhensomeoneshowsupandwishestouseaspaceandneedsHVAC.WeofferaQRCodebasedwaytohandlethesescenarios.
UnoccupiedsettingsDoyoulockthethermostatfunctions.Keepunlockedw/minimalrange,etc…
TAGSPutNOHVACinthetitleordescriptionofanycalendareventwhichdoesnotrequireHVAC.WorshipEditionwillignoreanyeventswithtitlesthatcontain:NOHVAC,CANCELED,TENTATIVEUseourSKIPsyntaxtoskipHVACprogrammingforaspecificspaceduringaspecificevent.
Conclusion
ValidationOncealltheabovestepshavebeencompletedwewillperformaninitialsyncofyourcalendar.Oncesynced,wewillthenvalidateHVACprogrammingwithyourcalendar,ensuringaccuracyandexpectedresultsbeforegoinglive.
FineTuningOnceoperationalyoumaygetfeedbackfromyourcommunitythatcertainareasmightneedtemperaturetweaksorperhapscertaineventsarenotbeingprocessedbyWorshipEdition.Wewillworktogethertofinetunetheseissuessothatyouhavesmooth,comfortableautomatedoperations.

PurgeDeletesanyeventspreviouslyfoundinyourcalendar.Onthenexthourlycheck,eventswillbesyncedfromyoureventscalendar.Usethisanytimeyouhavemodifiedtheabovepreferences.Thiswillensureafreshrunwithallofyournewpreferences.DoNotpurgeifyouhaveeventscurrentlyinprogress–dowaittilltheyfinishbeforeusingthisfeature.
PausePausessyncwithyoureventscalendar.ExistingeventsremainprogrammedinInThrMaEMS,new/update/deletedeventswillnotbysyncedfromyoureventscalendar.Syncwillbepauseduntilyoureactivate(withtheActivatebutton).
DeleteDeletetheconnectionwithyoureventscalendar.ExistingeventsremainprogrammedinInThrMaEMS.Usethe'Purge...'buttonabovetodeleteexistingprogramming.
