Introduction Engineer Eyas Safareeni is the area manager of Capriole Construction Company in Abu Dhabi, UAE. He is also my supervisor during my employment time with Capriole Construction Company. He is a very qualified engineer and an excellent manager. Engineer Eyas has leadership and knowledge to direct and manage professionally all aspects of Capriole projects in Abu Dhabi. He has tact and a long experience in building and construction life. He is basically a civil engineer who graduated from Russia; he went through a lot of difficulties, challenges and success during his 20 years working experience in building and construction. Engineer Eyas has assigned me to work on five different projects under his supervision. My responsibilities in Capriole Construction Company as generally assigned and described by Engineer Eyas includes assisting with civil, geotechnical and environmental engineering analysis and design. Work also include field work, data management and technical writing, preparing and reading drawings, inspecting construction sites, responding to contractor questions, and reviewing specifications. Introduction

Project Site A: Parking Building (4 Story).

Site work include: Assisting field engineer. Checking site work to ensure compliance with
the specification and drawings. Managing load testing in 1st, 2
nd, 3
rd floor
and roof. Inspecting construction site to monitor progress and ensure
conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction and
safety standards. Giving clear directions to workers as to what needs to be
done to avoid repetitive mistakes by the workers
Office work include: Taking attendance. Inserting numerical and alphabetical data to computer.
Arranging appointments between engineers, technicians and other
professional people and sending inquiries. Assisting in the preparation of
the Construction Completion documentation. Calculates cost and
determines feasibility of project based on analysis of collected data. Using
computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to
prepare engineering and design documents. Doing a short presentation
about safety, objectives and finalization of the project.

Project Site B: Administration Building (2 Story).
Duration: July 12th
2011 to August 18th

Site work include: Assisting field engineer. Ordering wood, steel and construction
appliances. Planning for excavation process. Removing all water pipes and
cable lines from the field and installing a new main water pipe and
temporary cable lines. Inspecting construction site to monitor progress and
ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction
and safety standards.
Office work: Working with survivor and inserting all points measured by Transit to
AutoCAD and comparing them to the original drawing. Working on Gantt
chart for scheduling using Primavera software. Working on BBS (Bar
Bending Schedule) calculating the quantity of metal needed for the
foundations, Raft, Slap, Piles, Retaining Wall and Columns needed for the
project. Reviewing project plans and drawings on maps and AutoCAD.
Preparing and modifying of reports, specifications, plans, construction
schedules, environmental impact studies, and designs for project. Using
computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to
prepare engineering and design documents. Analyzing reports, maps,
drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photographs on soil composition,
terrain, hydrological characteristics, and other topographical and geologic
data to plan and design project.

Project Site C: Steel Structure Design.

Site work include: Field engineering assistant. Inspecting construction site to monitor
progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and
construction and safety standards. Making sure safety precautions are
followed including updating safety kits in case of any emergencies during
the work. Managing maintenance activities at project site. Ensuring that
the works are constructed to a good quality in line with the specification
and good working practice
Office work: Reviewing project plans and drawings on maps and AutoCAD, Using
computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to
prepare engineering and design documents., editing steel structural design
on AutoCAD and working some load testing on the structure using SAP
software program.

Project Site D: Welcoming Center Building (Ground level).

Site work includes: Working as a Site Engineer, Inspecting construction site to monitor
progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and
construction and safety standards. Direct supervision of the masons to
ensure good performance. Staying within the construction schedule and
maintain quality of work and safety standards. Making sure employees
have tools and equipment needed for job in order to ensure a good output.
Giving clear directions to workers as to what needs to be done to avoid
repetitive mistakes by the workers. Making sure company rules are
followed by crew
Office work: Using computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment
to prepare engineering and design documents. Reviewing project plans
and drawings on maps and AutoCAD. Reviewing the Gantt chart every
day and making sure that all work must be done on schedule. Assisting in
the preparation of method statements, site programs and temporary works
planning.

drawings. Inspecting construction site to monitor progress and ensure
conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction and
safety standards. Making sure safety precautions are followed including
updating safety kits in case of any emergencies during the
work. Managing construction and maintenance activities at project site.
Overseeing the work and making sure it runs smoothly and as per the plan.
Making sure company rules are followed by crew. Working to Reduce site
waste to a minimum.
Office work: Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to
prepare engineering and design documents. Analyzing reports, maps,
drawings and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design
project. Preparation of construction schedule, daily progress report,
material status, shop drawings status, cost matrix. Evaluating the quickest
and easiest way to a job without sacrificing quality of the work being
done. Assisting in maintaining drawing files, drawing register and site
filing system
