INTRODUCTIONThe Internet of Things (IoT) is the network of physical objects or things embedded with electronics, software, sensors and connectivity to enable it to achieve greater value and service by exchanging data with the manufacturer, operator and/or other connected devices. Each thing is uniquely identifiable through its embedded computing system but is able to interoperate within the existing internet infrastructure.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a scenario in which objects, animals or people are provided with unique identifiers and the ability to transfer data over a network without requiring human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction. IoT has evolved from the convergence of wireless technologies, micro-electromechanical systems and the Internet.

A thing, in the Internet of Things, can be a person with a heart monitor implant, a farm animal with a biochip transponder, an automobile that has built-in sensors to alert the driver when tire pressure is low or any other natural or man-made object that can be assigned an IP address and provided with the ability to transfer data over a network. So far, the Internet of Things has been most closely associated with machine-to-machine (M2M) communication in manufacturing and power, oil and gas utilities. Products built with M2M communication capabilities are often referred to as being smart.

TRENDSArchitecture : Building on top of the Internet of Things, the Web of

Things is an architecture for the application layer of the Internet of Things looking at the convergence of data from IoT devices into Web applications to create innovative use-cases. Some researchers argue that sensor networks are the most essential components of the Internet of Things.

Intelligence :  There is a shift in research to integrate the concepts of the Internet of Things and autonomous control, with initial outcomes towards this direction considering objects as the driving force for autonomous IoT. Autonomous behavior through collecting and reasoning context information plays a significant role in IoT.

Size Considerations : The Internet of objects would encode 50 to 100 trillion objects, and be able to follow the movement of those objects. Human beings in surveyed urban environments are each surrounded by 1000 to 5000 trackable objects.

Space Considerations : In an Internet of Things, the precise geographic location of a thing and also the precise geographic dimensions of a thing will be critical. Open Geospatial Consortium, "OGC Abstract Specification" Currently, the Internet has been primarily used to manage information processed by people. Therefore, facts about a thing, such as its location in time and space, have been less critical to track because the person processing the information can decide whether or not that information was important to the action being taken, and if so, add the missing information.

A Basket of Remotes : The most likely problem will be the "Basket of remotes" problem, where we'll have hundreds of applications to interface with hundreds of devices that don't share protocols for speaking with one another.

I expect that in the field of Intelligence and Architecture, IoT would make a big impact in the future coming years. As we are making this world modern and fast we need these things. We need better communication, technology with autonomous behavior and should based on the context of the event itself.

INTEREST AREAS I would like to work on Unique Addressability of Things,

Environmental Monitoring, Intelligence and Medical and Healthcare Systems. As these applications were important and IoT would have a big impact over them.

According to me, research is the way of enhancing your practical knowledge and converting your theoretical knowledge to practical one. I want to develop applications which makes more easier for users and can interface with less errors.

I would like to learn basics in any one of the specified area and take an opportunity to work on some project with practical knowledge.
