ACT Self Help Installation Guide Windows Vista and Windows 7

ACT Self Help Installation Guide assumes that a Network Interface Card (NIC) has been installed

Preparation

Parts Checklist –

• BEC 7300N Router • BEC 7300N Power Cable • 2 x Ethernet Cable • Airspan WiMAX POE Plug

Modem Installation (skip if technician has completed this for you) –

1) Place the router in an accessible location that will allow all attachments to reach the back of your computer

2) Plug power cord into a standard 120VAC electric receptacle or power strip/surge protector 3) Plug the other end of the power cord into the appropriate location on the back of the router,

labeled as “Power” 4) Plug one Ethernet cable from the POE plug labeled LAN/PC into port 1 on the router 5) Plug the other Ethernet cable into your Network Interface Card (NIC)/Ethernet Port (Oversized

phone jack on the back of the computer) and run it to port 2, 3 or 4 on the router. If you are unsure as to whether or not you have a NIC card, refer to your computer’s user guide for additional information

Your router and POE plug should look like the diagrams on the next page when you are finished.

Disabling Old Dial-up Properties (Optional) –

1) Return to the Control Panel and click on Internet Options

2) Under the Connection tab, make sure that “Never Dial a Connection” is selected and click on OK
