Set unterwegs, welches an die Atmosphäre von Fields of the nephilim und The sisters of mercy

Anaal Nathrakh
In The Constellation Of The
Black Widow
Genre: Death Metal
Label: Candlelight Records
Katalognr.: CANDLE285CD
VÖ am: 29.06.2009
Anaal Nathrakh was created for one purpose - to be the soundtrack for armageddon, the audial
essence of evil, hatred and violence, the true spirit of necro taken to its musical extremes.
Since being founded in 1999, the band has gained a reputation for embodying precisely these
things, with a history including not only the release of four albums and an EP to rapturous
acclaim, but collaborations with such legendary figures as Attila Csihar (Mayhem), Shane
Embury and Danny Herrera (Napalm Death), Nick Barker (Testament, Dimmu Borgir), Joe
Horvath (Circle of Dead Children), Sethlans Teitan (Watain) and so on. This, alongside
appearing on BBC Radio 1 at the personal behest of sadly missed icon John Peel, headlining a
stage at the renowned cult Inferno Festival in Norway as their debut international live
appearance, countless placings in ‘best album of the year’ polls and album of the month awards
in the press and cover appearances on leading magazines such as Terrorizer… Anaal
Nathrakh’s status as one of the leading lights in extreme metal is undeniable.
Hallmarked by breathtaking musical ferocity, inventiveness and breadth, married with a
mercurial, intensely misanthropic and sharp intelligence, Anaal Nathrakh’s sound is imbued
with a palpable sense of menace that is virtually unmatched in metal.
And as 2009 begins with the world apparently going to wrack and ruin, the band unveil their
latest merciless, deranged, schizophrenic album ‘In The Constellation Of The Black Widow’

BLOOD TSUNAMI
Grand Feast For Vultures
Genre: Thrash Metal
Label: Candlelight Records
Katalognr.: CANDLE249CD
VÖ am: 27.04.2009
The metal juggernaut known as Blood Tsunami returns with "grand feast for vultures", the
follow up to the highly acclaimed 2007 nap/candlelight debut, "thrash metal". The new album
consists of seven songs, which are both faster, darker and heavier than before, but still
maintaining the epic, brutal and yet melodic edge.
Blood tsunami has now really captured what they are all about; relentless thrash metal. With
monstrous riffs, red hot leads and rapid drums topped with vicious shrieks and thunderous
growls, this ferocious titan of metal will attack with snapping jaws and razor sharp claws.
Pulling influences from a deep well of 80's thrash, death and nwobhm, blood tsunami has
created their own wicked mixture of noise that brings the listener down an already familiar
path, but also taking you to places unknown. Once again recorded in lion heart studios, Oslo,
the soundscape is dark and brutal, dynamic and rough. Engineered by øyvind voldmo larsen and
produced by the band, "grand feast for vultures" is not to be missed upon its release: 27th of
April in Europe, 5th of may in the us.
Blood tsunami is:
Bård "faust" eithun – drums
Kristoffer "dor" sørensen – lead guitar
Peter "bosse" boström – bass and backing growl vocals

Weit gefehlt!

DIVINITY
SINGULARITY
Genre: Tech Metal
Label: Candlelight Records
Katalognr.: CANDLE308CD
VÖ-Termine: 24.04.2010
OVERVIEW
SECOND RELEASE FROM CANADIAN PROG METAL BAND DIVINITY COMBINING
CRUSHING THRASH, PROGRESSIVE METAL AND BRUTAL DEATH METAL
OVERTONES TO CREATE AN ALBUM THAT WILL SURELY RANK AS ONE OF THE
MOST MEMORABLE AURAL ASSAULTS OF 2010
While singer/guitarist Sean Jenkins was still in high school jamming in a basement with friends
in Calgary, Alberta, his life path crossed with guitarist James Duncan, creating the solid
foundation DIVINITY would later come to rest on. Leaving the comforts of their rehearsal
space to test their skills in a live setting, the Canadian natives made their on-stage debut by
playing live Battle of the Bands shows in Calgary. Several years and several line-up changes
later, the chemistry created by the addition of drummer Brett Duncan prompted the band to
record their five-song Intensify EP. Deciding on a dual guitar approach, Sacha Laskow was
recruited into the bands ranks, and when Nick Foster was enlisted to handle bass duties,
DIVINITY had at last found their missing fifth element. Brought together by serendipity and
gifted with the sight to see the necessity of and place for variety, a surging creativity has always
fueled these talented, similarly-minded musicians. Armed with his own arsenal of growls,
high-pitched screams, and melodic clean vocals, founding DIVINITY member and lead singer
Sean Jenkins has successfully overseen the amalgamation of multiple genres: a crushing thrash
attitude with complex progressive metal arrangements and brutal death metal overtones. The
resulting compositions are devastating. The poise of each songs shifting time signatures and
their unpredictable rhythmic insanities alone will easily qualify DIVINITYs new album as one of
the more memorable aural assaults of 2010. The Singularitys intricate riffs, plunging grooves,
and melodic passages can carry you through the expansive landscape of the soul. Lyrically

tackling the themes of mindless consumerism, survival in the midst of adversity, the chaos of
existence and humanitys battle against technology, Jenkins explores the parameters of the
human voice while capable shredders James Duncan & Sacha Laskow weave their unyielding
riffs & solos throughout as the rhythm section of Brett Duncan & Nick Foster aptly
demonstrates a very feral meticulousness. Monsters Are Real, Emergent, Beg to Consume, and
Lay In The Bed You’ve Made all exhibit DIVINITYs dynamic and ferocious range. A
damned-with-talent band sure to please fans of Into Eternity, Strapping Young Lad, and
Soilwork, keep DIVINITY on your radar. With a long & healthy future ahead of them, the
auditory diversity of DIVINITYs The Singularity makes it a serious contender for one of the
most solid sophomore releases in a mixed genre and will surely propel these musicians out of
their native homeland and into the rest of the metal world

Full Speed AheadDas neue Album FULL SPEED AHEAD knüpft dort an wo das Vorgänger Album Down To Heaven aufgehört hat.
Time Tools Studio Hannover (Depeche Mode, Placebo, Moby u.A.).
Live is a wild card...

Forest Stream
The Crown Of Winter
Genre: DOOM
Label: Candlelight Records
Katalognr.: CANDLE214CD
Forest Stream BIO
Forest Stream was founded in 1995 by Sonm (drums, keys, vocals) & Omin (guitars, bass) in a
small Russian town called Chernogolovka, 40 km north-east of Moscow. From the very
beginning their goal was to create the music that would capture the beauty and magic of
existence at the same time showing its triviality, misery, and despair.
The duo worked only together at the beginning, but soon other members started to join and an
embryonic full band started to take shape. Silent Anth began to help Forest Stream as bass
player, and he quickly became a permanent fixture.
In 1999 this line-up recorded the first demo, “Snowfall”. Influenced by the pioneers of the UK
doom scene, but complete with a blackened edge, their music expressed deep sorrow and
hopelessness of the existence on this pitiable planet.
The second demo, “Last Season Purity” was recorded in 2000 and subsequently uploaded to
mp3.com. Thus Forest Stream was introduced to the foreign listeners for the first time.
The year 2002 was marked by serious rearrangements in the line-up: Elhella joined to play
drums and Berserk joined as guitar player. Forest Stream also got a record deal for four
albums from Elitist records. To get the first album, “Tears of Mortal Solitude”, done the band
had to withstand quite a number of unpleasant events such as equipment theft, destruction of
their rehearsal rooms, and the least expected—Sonm’s departure to the Netherlands where he
enrolled to a Ph.D. course in physics. Despite all difficulties, the album was still recorded and
This document was created using iPool music promotion software - http://iPool.info
Page 34
released at the beginning of 2003 to universal plaudits from press and public alike.
With the release of the full-length album the band got more opportunities to play live and that
is when the line-up problems had to be solved. Elhella was shifted to play keys, Kir joined to
play drums and T.Moloch was the new bass-man. This coincided with band’s morphing towards
more aggressive touches in their music due to growing influences of the dark
Masters—Emperor; as well as getting more technically advanced following the example of
Sweden’s Opeth.
Around this time, among various headline concerts throughout Russia and the Ukraine, Forest
Stream played a show with Cradle of Filth and joined Katatonia during their tour in Russia.
Four years passed since the release of their first album. Unfortunately, Elitist records ceased its
existence so Forest Stream were looking for a new deal parallel to working on the new
material. When Forest Stream were thinking over several offers, Candlelight records suddenly
proposed a three-album deal and Forest Stream happily accepted it.
The material for the second album, The Crown of Winter, is shaping up to be something
remarkable and truly worth listening to. Mixing duties are to be handled by Brett Caldas-Lima
(To-Mera, Kalisia, etc). Taking the symphonic and epic overload of the Norwegian black metal
scene and combining it with a seriously emotional core of classic doom, Forest Stream’s unique
take on the genre is set to explode.

GLORIOR BELLI
MEET US AT THE SOUTHERN
SIGN
Genre: Black Metal
Label: Candlelight Records
Katalognr.: CANDLE112CD
VÖ am: 29.06.2009
THIRD HYMN OF RAW BLACK METAL FROM FRENCH FILTH-MONGERS GLORIOR
BELLI
"Once in a blood red moon, a band comes along that defies the law... Glorior Belli came out
from the dark in December 2002 with Antares & Infestvvs. The first demo, "Evil Archaic Order"
was released in June 2004, followed by the first album " Lavdate Dominvs" in May 2005.
Despite their exquisitely filthy and brutal nature, both records emit a mesmerizing otherworldly
resonance that cannot be denied. An omnious rumble and surge. Always moving forward to
various points of tension & terror. Raging guitars, violent drums, blood & blasphemies... There's
obviously some bestial qualities in their art but the whole thing though has a strangely melodic
bent that helps it to stand out from other black metal records, an almost indie-rock quality to
the melodies, somehow super catchy while at the same time being suffocatingly black & grim.
M :A Fog joined the band in early 2006 as a new drummer & Glorior Belli began the
composition of their second full-length album : "Manifesting The Raging Beast", released on
June 19th 2007 under the banner of Southern Lord Records. Raging with heart-eating
intensity, this new album conquered the black souls, spoke of the darkest secrets and affirmed
its personality toward the genre. Filled with seasick riffs, guttural vocals and surprisingly
melodic lines, "Manifesting..." is as darkly beautiful as it is gloom inducing. In summer 2008
Glorior Belli have inked a new deal with Candlelight Records in Europe & North-America.
Antares is back in the band after M:A Fog's departure & Glorior Belli will record their third
album: "Meet Us At The Southern Sign" in early 2009. The band has already performed some
live rituals, including the Blood Soaked Torment tour with Corpus Christii in October 2005
playing alongside bands like Inquisition, Merrimack, Watain, Hell Militia, Paragon Impure,
etc..."

HAVOK
BURN
Genre: Thrash Metal
Label: Candlelight Records
Katalognr.: CANDLE270CD
VÖ am: 30.08.2009
HAVOK is the thrash metal powerhouse reigning from Colorado that continues to win over
thousands of fans from various parts of the world. Incorporating blisteringly fast guitar riffs,
machine-like drumming, groovy bass lines, searing leads, and hard-hitting vocals, HAVOK are
able to maintain that *punch-you-in-the-throat* style of music.
Although there are many other thrash bands out there, there is one thing that sets HAVOK
apart from the others. This band puts their own stamp on the genre by employing a more
technical side of music, while maintaining the feel. HAVOK's live show is where the band really
catches peoples' attention, with their non-stop energy level and their ability to get the audience
involved. They are a must-see for any fan of live music! This Denver outfit has had their name
compared to the likes of Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, Pantera, Testament, Overkill,
Exodus, Suicidal Tendencies, Motorhead, etc And for good reason! They possess a distinct
approach to thrash: one that emulates the abrasive styles of classic 80s thrash metal, but with a
much-needed fresh edge. HAVOK has received tons of positive feedback for their efforts to
make thrash a mainstay in modern music: and they will continue to spread the intensity until
they decide the job is done! Given their talent, determination, and constantly growing fan base,
HAVOK is destined to become a mainstay in this scene!

IHSAHN
AFTER
Genre: Metal / Tech
Label: Candlelight Records
Katalognr.: CANDLEL288CD
VÖ-Termine: 25.01.2010
OVERVIEW
STUNNING HEAVY PROG MASTERPIECE FROM EMPEROR FRONTMAN IHSAHN
Recorded during the first half of 2009, After completes the Ihsahn's planned trilogy of initial
recordings. The album showcases the Norwegian icon with drummer Asgeir Mickelson (Spiral
Architect), bassist Lars K. Norberg (Spiral Architect), & saxophonist Jorgen Munkeby
(Shining). "This is my first album written with 8-string guitars as basis which has been both
challenging and inspiring, he comments when discussing the creative process. I also decided
early on that I wanted to mix this album with Jens Bogren (Opeth, Katatonia) and recorded the
album with that in mind. Asgeir and Lars have again delivered superb performances. I've
always wanted to implement the saxophone in my music; Jorgens contributions truly added a
silver lining to the album." Again working at his own Symphonique Studio, with additional work
at Toproom Studio (co-engineered by Borge Finstad), After was meticulously laid out over an
eight month period. The intensity of the project has more than paid off with early listenings
already proclaiming it to be the most poignant creations of his solo efforts. I have felt more
confident and more at ease with the material, relays Ihsahn. In letting the songs themselves
lead the way I just followed the natural impulses." Ihsahns first recording, The Adversary, found
the musician composing and performing all instruments and immediately struck a chord with
his hordes of fans worldwide. The album afforded Ihsahn the opportunity to embrace more
expansive sonic textures previously untouched in Emperor. The album also saw a return of his
various lyrical muses. "Icaros, Lucifer, Prometheus, Zarathustra are all persons of history who
challenged commonly accepted, most often enforced "truths," despite civilization's persecution of
them and their followers, he comments. Their stories are inspirational. AngL would follow in
2008. Metal Maniacs said, whereas The Adversary was a sonic coping mechanism - all aspects
of the album were tightly controlled - AngL finds the visionary widening and deepening the

canvas. Decibel Magazine called the album, "as compelling as Emperor's best; Ihsahn sounds as
fresh as he did fifteen years ago, but with the hindsight of a grown man." AngL featured a
musical collaboration with Opeths Mikael Akerfeldt for the song The Unhealer. Spellemann
(Norwegian Grammy) Award Nominee Ihsahn (born Vegard Tveitan) began playing music at a
very early age. As a teenager, his friendship with Tomas Haugen (a.k.a. Samoth) would trigger
the start of his music career - one that to date includes over fifty individual recordings, five
high-profile Emperor European tours (the band reaching US shores on only three occasions)
and the respect of fans and peers worldwide.

Imperial Vengeance
At The Going Down Of The Sun
Genre: Black Metal
Label: Candlelight Records
Katalognr.: CANDLE251CD
VÖ am: 20.07.2009
Imperial Vengeance is a British extreme metal act formed in 2007, originally being a studio
based collaborative between C. Edward-Alexander (Vocals, Guitars and Orchestration) and
David Bryan (Bass, Lyrics). The concept was an attempt to explore ideas and material firmly
rooted in the glory days of the British Empire and presenting a wide range of subjects
influenced by its’ colourful social and military histories, theatre, literature and mythologies.
March 2008 saw the release of the duo’s first endeavour: "Death: August & Royal" which
comprised of one regular audio CD and a second multi-media DVDROM and featured the
drumming talents of William Drury. Such was the enthusiastic response to the release, the
English gentlemen decided to take the band a step further and alongside the new recruit to the
ranks; guitarists Elle Torry (Worms of Sabnock, Everlasting Descent) and James Murray
(Shotgun Affair) were invited to complete the live lineup.
In June, the band inked a deal with legendary UK label Candlelight Records and spent the rest
of the year writing and then recording their debut album "At The Going Down Of The Sun".
Largely written by gas-light, fuelled by absinthe and cigar smoke. the songs on ATGDOTS
represent an uncomfortable meander through British history principally between the dates 1873
and 1943; though on occasion, cracks in time do open doorways to other vistas. The release
comprises of 10 blistering tracks of British metal, mixed and mastered by Brett Caldas-Lima
and unleashed March 2009.
The band are currently filming two promotional videos: "Unto That End" and "Airborne-Redux".
Plans for the 2009 festivals are being made with additional live dates to be announced in the
very near future.

INSOMNIUM

AMAZING FOURTH STUDIO ALBUM FROM FINNISH MELODIC DEATH METALLERS
A PINCH OF DOOM, SOME THRASHING, A WHOLE LOT OF TIMELESS MELODIES AND
PROGRESSIVE TWISTS AND THERE YOU HAVE IT: INGREDIENTS OF THE
MASTERPIECE THE PERFECT MARRIAGE OF SCANDINAVIAN DEATH METAL WITH
TRADITIONAL FINNISH TUNES
Over the last decade Insomnium has slowly but surely made itself a household name amongst
melodic death metal fans worldwide. Formed in 1997 in a somnolent town of Joensuu, in
eastern Finland, these stern men have ever since redefined the boundaries of the genre. Two
highly acclaimed demos already set the standard and in 2001 the band signed to UK label
Candlelight Records. Debut album In the Halls of Awaiting (2002) introduced a young and
fierce band that combined aggression and violent riffing to melancholic atmosphere. Marriage
of Scandinavian death metal and traditional Finnish tunes, catchy but progressive, melodic but
brutal these have been the Insomnium trademarks ever since. Debut was praised all over the
metal world but the band still remained the Finlands best kept secret. With Since the Day It All
Came Down (2004) the band moved further from the beaten paths of the genre. Album was
darker, more challenging and the songs took meandering pathways: a rewarding journey for
those who dare to take it. Exaltations followed, the prestige grew. In 2005 Insomnium made its
first real tour outside Finland as they hit the shores of UK. The road had been long, narrow and
rocky, but now things started to roll. Third album Above the Weeping World (2006) was the
breakthrough. Compositions and arrangements had reached a new pinnacle and the overall
sound was heavier and richer. Album was tighter, meaner and more menacing than ever.
Long-time friend Aleksi Munter did the epic keyboard parts which added a whole new layer to
the songs. Album took the 9th spot on the Finnish album charts, Mortal Share video blared in
MTV and Insomnium made long tours in Europe and North America with bands like Amorphis,

Katatonia, Enslaved and Satyricon. New album Across the Dark (2009) shows a band that
knows its strenghts but isnt afraid to evolve. Crux of the music is still melodic death metal but
nuances are giving it a unique flavour. Keyboards are overwhelmingly epic and there are some
stunning clean vocals by Jules N䶥ri. Bit of folk metal, pinch of doom, some thrashing,
a whole lot of timeless melodies and progressive twists and there you have it: ingredients of the
masterpiece.
Released in Finland Sep 2nd, Europe Sep 7th, USA Sep 8th.

confusion is nextthe generation of this order
first heard CIN on their
excellent 2008 release "Lost in
Dark Days". On the strength of
that, I further explored their
music with the first release, 2005's "Spread The
Spirit". While both feature a raw sound that's
reminiscent of early 90s "alternative", the first
seems to owe a bit more to that era, while the
second sees CIN further refining their sound,
exploring more dynamics and boasting a
much better recording quality.
Well here we are with a fresh one for you to
enjoy. The first thing that's apparent to me
when listening to "The Generation of this
Order" is the fact that CIN have struck a
balance between the raw, loud sound that
dominated their first two releases and the
melodic, dynamic sound that began to appear
in "Lost in Dark Days". A bit of the "confusion" is
replaced by a bit of clarity, which makes for the
perfect balance. In just a few years, CIN have
matured into a confident band who seem to
have a clear vision of exactly where they want
to go. "The Generation of this Order" sees
Confusion is Next poised to take their career to
another level. I, for one, look forward to what
CIN has in store!
Let me be the first to say . . . enjoy!

onfusion Is Next embody
everything I look for in
musicians; passionate,
intelligent and talented; people
who perform purely for the joy of performing;
and this comes across in the music they
produce, a return to the glory days of
Alternative Rock, to a time when alternative
meant different and bands were not afraid to
mix noise, progressive structures and melody.
Great music should trigger a response from the
listener and Confusion Is Next’s song writing
possesses this quality, their music takes me back
to a time when I was growing up and
discovering the joys of sound; a reminder of the
days when the music was the central factor,
where releases were passed between friends on
discovering a 'new' band, and seemingly before
people were influenced by fashion, trends, and
scenes; possibly a naive viewpoint on my behalf
but fond memories all the same.
With 'The Generation Of This Order', Confusion
Is Next have created another quality release
which I hope you'll take the time to listen to, and
that it will either invoke some fond old
memories or create some welcome new ones.
Play loud and enjoy!

OVERVIEW
One of the hardest working and determined bands in the underground today, Magrudergrind is
primed to kick ass and take names on their sophomore full-length release. Combining elements
of grind, crust, and thrash, the raw energy and violent emotion contained within the 16 tracks
is overpowering

Nachtmystium
Doomsday Derelicts
Genre: Black Metal
Label: Candlelight Records
Katalognr.: CANDLE286CD
VÖ am: 27.07.2009
Brand new Ep with four tracks coming in at about 17 minutes, this is without a doubt the most
extreme Nachtmystium release in years and is a return to their metal roots but still maintains
their trademark psychedelic atmosphere.
Recorded in May, 2008 @ Electrical Audio Studios, Chicago (owned and operated by indie
rock legend Steve Albini who's worked for Nirvana, Shellac, High on Fire, Mono, Big Black, etc
etc etc) Four new tracks that stand as a testimony to Nachtmystium's metal roots. Influenced by
the likes of Autopsy, Profanatica, Beherit, Blasphemy, etc. This release is much more savage
and aggressive than the previous full-length, but still maintains the psychedelic atmospheres
that have helped Nachtmystium's sound develop into what it is today. Engineered by Sanford
Parker (who engineered / produced Assassins) Produced by Blake Judd & Sanford Parker
Tracklisting:

DEAD WATERS
Genre: Alternative
Label: Amber Autum
Katalognr.: CANDLE268CD
VÖ am: 04.05.2009
DEAD WATERS: AN ORGANIC MIX OF DREAMY AMBIENT AND ALTERNATIVE
Her songs are enchanting and disturbing. Her lyrics and poetic writings are dark, metaphoric
and personal, and one never knows if she is talking about dreams or reality. Her visuals are
dark and sensual (and alarmed American Mental Health workers who claimed a patient got
psychotic after watching one of her videos!), yet her social-critical and esoteric writings are
very insightful and highly acclaimed... Nebelhex is an artist and writer who runs her own show.
She is often referred to as being one of the most intriguing personalities of the subculture... and
many don't quite get her. Indeed often attacked for being "too complex" (by the not too smart
ones obviously!), yet she simply remains true to her heart, and she has come pretty far by doing
just that. Obs; her music is not metal! We prefer to call it 'Alternative'. Yet once the architect
behind ex-projects Aghast and Hagalaz' Runedance she is still at home in the Metal scene and
thus still signed to Metal labels... However she does not want to fall into any specific genre. She
describes Dead Waters as: "very own, very dark, very organic, very strange? Dead Waters
certainly turned out to be more organic, kind of like a mix of dreamy ambient, tribal, and a
darker form of country... or something like that... maybe it was the influence of that Texas
snake beer we were drinking in the studio (cool stuff!) and the hot weather... :-) " "The songs as
usual, embrace many of my deep and dark thoughts, dreams... and recent experiences... I have
a talent for ending up in unusual, interesting and weird situations... always kinda stressy when
it happens... but they always makes the best and entertaining stories afterwards... The lyrics are
explained, (not in detail though, I keep some thing's for your imagination!) on my website

OVERVIEW
STUNNING RETURN TO FORM FROM AMERICAN LEGENDS OF DEATH METAL
OBITUARY
When Obituary announced their plans to record a new album in early 2007 the metal world
stood up and applauded. One of death metals crown jewels was returning and fans could not
have been more enthused. The album, Xecutioners Return, delivered the goods as only Obituary
could. Now two years later the band are back with their new epic. Signature in every way,
Darkest Day shows that this band truly gets better with age. With a headline world tour already
confirmed this year, these Tampa legends continue to prove that their work ethic and credo
continues unwavered, unmatched and truly inspirational.

"Our Souls To You Part 2"
(Justin Broadrick) mix
Genre: Metal/Industrial
Label: Candlelight Records
Katalognr.: CANDLE289CD
VÖ-Termine: 04.04.2010
October File announce the release of their third album “Our Souls To You” on the 5th April
2010 via Candlelight Records.
The album contains 11 tracks that are best described as a raging assault of post-apocalypse
sonic heaviness on the senses from start to finish. . . Dark, aggressive, angular and downright
angry are the closest descriptions. Musically, OCTOBER FILE deliver an even heavier and more
direct approach than the highly rated last album, 'Holy Armour From The Jaws Of God'."
Steve Beatty – Bass player:
“We spent a year writing and rehearsing, taking our time and arguing intensely about this and
that and we feel its been worth it. Its also the first time we have been able to complete the
whole process with a stable and complete line up. This recording was time wasting idiot free! It
shows, it’s a collective effort with everyone bringing their talents and suggestions into the mix.
We took our time and wrote what we feel is a varied album, so many records seem to be ten of
the same songs these days, we wanted so much to avoid this, we want the listener to let the
album unfold in its own way. Enjoy every last drop of bile”.
The album will come as a double CD with the full album produced by John Mitchell at Outhouse
Studios and a V.2 (version two) with the whole album being produced by Justin Broadrick
(Godflesh etc).
The album contains eleven tracks:

PANTHEON I
WORLDS I CREATE
Genre: Black Metal
Label: Candlelight Records
Katalognr.: CANDLE228CD
VÖ am: 27.07.2009
Biography
Formed in late 2002 and hailing from the city of Oslo, Norway, Andrè Kvebek (guitar), John
Espen Sagstad (guitar) and Eirik Renton (drums) started PANTHEON-I as an outlet for their
fascination of extreme and melancholic music. They recorded but never released a 4-track demo
(DEMO MMIII) in mid 2003, this demo was for promotional use only. The demo received great
response from the metal-underground and different Magazines worldwide. The band entered the
studio once again in January 2004 to record 2 songs. These songs were released on a 7" vinyl by
the band in September 2004, and once again they received great response worldwide.
After taking in Tor Risdal Stavenes (bass) , Gunhild Mathea Olaussen (violin) and Live Julianne
Kostøl (cello) in early 2004 to complete their line-up, the intended sound of PANTHEON I was
finally complete! The band started doing live gigs, to spread the fast and brutal music of
PANTHEON I to the masses.
In the summer of 2004, PANTHEON I decided to record their first full-length album "Atrocity
Divine". The album consisted of 11 brand new tracks, and was faster and more versatile then
the two previous recordings. It took the band almost a year to finish the album due to
economically reasons and the fact that the band decided to prioritise live-gigs instead of the
record. After completion the album was quickly picked up by "World Chaos Productions" for an
early 2006 release.
Eirik decided to leave PANTHEON I in May 2005, as he felt he had lost his inspiration to play
drums in extreme metal. Several auditions were spent during the summer of 2005, and they
found Dan Theobald from U.K. Blackmetallers "Twisted Autumn Darkness" whose technique and

speed took their music to a new level of intensity and brutality. The band decided to record a
new 4-track promo-cd and it will be sent out solely for promotional reasons in an attempt to
help the band secure more gigs! Gunhild left the band in April 2006. Unable to rehearse and
spend enough time on PANTHEON I left here no decision but to leave the band.
The band set to work on their second full-length album during the summer 2006, and in
September they signed to Candlelight Records for future releases. PANTHEON I entered the
studio in late November 2006 and recorded their second full-length album, entitled "The
Wanderer And His Shaodw". The album came out in early 2007 in USA and Europe, and has
received great reviews. After the release of the second album PANTHEON I focused on playing
live, and spent the rest of 2007 playing gigs in Norway while working on new material. At the
end of the year PANTHEON I played outside Norway for the first time, as they accompanied
Mayhem as the main support band on a 8 gigs tour in France.
In 2008 Pantheon I spent most of their energy on writing material for the new album, which is
scheduled for release mid-2009. The band also did several one-off shows, including the
Interregnum festival in Germany, and the Jalometalli festival (With Overkill, Satyricon,
Mayhem +++) in Oulu, Finland. In October Pantheon I did went on their first headliner-tour
abroad, a mini-tour in Finland with Enochian Crescent (FIN) and Coprolith (FIN). Recently
after coming home from the mini-tour Pantheon I went into studio to record a brand new song
called "I’ll Come Back As Fire", which will be featured in the film "Someone’s Knocking At The
Door" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1303902/ ), an American horror-movie now in the
post-production process. Pantheon I has also signed up with Pihkamedia (http://www.pihka.net)
for festivals and tours in finland. Regarding the rest of the world the band have teamed up with
Listenup music ( http://www.listenup-management.com ).

REVELATIONS OF THE
BLACK FLAME
Genre: Black Metal
Label: Candlelight Records
Katalognr.: CANDLE261CD
VÖ am: 25.05.2009
BRAND NEW ALBUM WITH A BRAND NEW MUSICAL DIRECTION FOR NORWAY'S
1349
Norway's 1349 return with their brand new album Revelations of the Black Flame a blackened
journey that encompasses black metal, dark ambient, noise, industrial and the soundtrack to a
twisted David Lynch film.
This album sees the band toning back on the balls to the wall blasting speed of previous albums
and trying something crawling, darker and altogether more mature. With this album the band
have realized that to truly capture the aural essence of evil you need contrast and time for the
musical soundscapes to lull you into a false sense of security so when the black metal does kick
in you're dragged bodily into what can only be described as a nightmare. The new album was
produced by legendary Tom G Warrior of Celtic Frost fame and will be released on three
formats - the standard CD, special edition double CD that includes a bonus live disc recorded in
Stockholm and the deluxe 180 gram blood red collector's vinyl.

SACRED HEART
SACRED HEART ‘Darkness Falls’
(release date: 7th December 2009) through Winkelrant Records.
Following on from SACRED HEART’s 2007 album ‘Shake’, ‘Darkness Falls’ mixes hard rock,pop/rock and power ballads.
‘Lay It On The Line’ (2004) put SACRED HEART on the map and opened doors for the bandon the live stage. Although the collection of 10 tracks were recorded as a demo (to showthere was more to the guys than just 3 or 4 songs) it lead to live shows with: TheQuireboys, Saxon, Kee Marcello (Europe), Mitch Malloy, Toby Jepson (Little Angels/Gun)and many others.
High profile dates in support of ‘Shake’ with Thunder, Dokken, House Of Lords, Asia,Bonfire & more, plus many excellent reviews, lead us on to today - and the new album‘Darkness Falls’.
Recorded with Alex Burke of Audio-Republik, it features 13 studio tracks (4 of which areprofessional versions of songs from ‘Lay It On The Line’) and also includes 4 bonus demos(CD version only).
Although the bass on the album was recorded by Nathan J. Lark, SACRED HEART have anew line up:
Paul Stead - lead vocals & guitar, Mark Stephenson - guitars & backing vocals, Dave Thurlby - drums & Darren Jhuboo - bass & backing vocals
SACRED HEART's official web pages are:sacredheartband.com myspace.com/sacredheartshakes youtube.com/sacredheartband & you can also find them on Facebook.

BRAND NEW SECOND ALBUM FROM THE UK'S NUMBER ONE THRASH BAND
SAVAGE MESSIAH MIX CLASSIC THRASH RIFFAGE WITH THE MOST OUTSTANDING
LEAD GUITAR WORK HEARD YET IN UK THRASH...Ian Webster - Terrorizer Magazine
Savage Messiah hails from London UK and features Lead Guitarist/Vocalist Dave Silver, Lead
Guitarist Sy Taplin, Bassist Sasha Cron and Drummer Ernie Nogara. In October 2007 the band
released their Andy Faulkner (Bolt Thrower, Siam) produced debut "Spitting Venom". The band
opted to release this via their own imprint SMR productions, which was signed up for
distribution by the mighty Plastic Head (Nuclear Blast, Metal Blade etc..). On release the CD
won great praise from all over the world drawing comparisons with Testament, Arch Enemy,
Judas Priest and Carcass among others. These comparisons vindicated the bands musical
ideology of combining classic Thrash and Metal with modern and extreme sounds. This goal we
feel sets us apart from our contemporaries and gives us a more unique and individual sound. We
feel this open minded approach could path the way for longevity in a musical climate of highly
disposable fashion oriented artists Spitting Venom was voted no.14 Top Metal album of 2007
by Chris Nagal for Listmania! Over at amazon.com coming in above Megadeth! The band are
also a featured artist on Billboard.com thanks to Ed Rivadavia, who also reviewed the band for
Allmusic.com. Back in November 2007 SM hit the road for the first time, taking in 14 concerts
throughout England. The shows were a tremendous success and solidified the bands reputation
as one of the most exiting and explosive acts currently active in the UK. As well as magazine
and webzine attention the band has attracted much airplay notching up radio plays in Japan,
North America, Canada, UK, Columbia, Mexico, Germany, Australia and other countries
throughout Europe. The band were even invited to the Total Rock Studios in London to take
part in a live on air interview in April 08. Ultimately the record would catch the attention of

Candlelight Records who signed the band in January 2009. The guys immediately entered The

producer Chris Tsangarides. Famous for his production on such seminal albums as "Painkiller"
by Judas Priest, "Tattooed Millionares" by Bruce Dickinson as well as notching up production

recruited Scott Atkins (Cradle of Filth, Gama Bomb) to mix the effort.

Athera (vocals)-Tjodalv (Drums)-Memnock (bass)-Cyrus (Guitar)-Elvorn (Guitar)
Susperia may have their roots in Norway’s black metal scene, but it is merely a starting point
for a band that describes their music as “extreme metal with melodic twists”. A simple
philosophy of “no boundaries” demonstrates that the band have no hesitation in embracing and
exploring a variety of musical avenues with ease.
The origins of the Oslo based band can be traced back to 1998 when Tjodalv, then occupying
the drum seat with Dimmu Borgir, and long time friend Cyrus (Satyricon, Old Man´s Child) got
together to share ideas and write songs. This developed rapidly into the foundations of what
eventually became the band Susperia. By March 1999 Tjodalv had left Dimmu Borgir to
concentrate fully on building a band that was capable of sharing one vision and performing a
challenging style of music. A chance meeting between Athera and Tjodalv at 1999’s Wacken
Festival in Germany would lead to the completion of the Susperia line up. Having been handed
a CD of ideas, Athera was suitably impressed by what he heard and wasted no time in agreeing
to join the fledgling band, bringing with him from his own band, bass guitarist Memnock and
guitarist Elvorn.
With the line up complete, Susperia recorded the five-song ‘Illusion of Evil’ demo, which
immediately caused a buzz with various record labels. A bidding war ensued with ten labels
chasing the bands signature. They eventually opted for Nuclear Blast who would go on to
release the bands debut album ‘Predominance’, in March 2001 and the follow up ‘Vindication’

in 2002. Both recorded at the legendary Abyss Studio in Sweden. However cracks were
beginning to appear in the bands’ relationship with Nuclear Blast. As a result, they took their
destiny into their own hands and asked to be released from their contract. Band and label
parted on amicable terms with vocalist Athera commenting at the time that “we couldn’t sit on
our arses waiting for something to happen”.
By 2003 the band were fielding offers from various labels and eventually found a new home
with upcoming Norwegian label TABU – a division of TUBA Records. The first release for the
label was the album ‘Unlimited’ which saw Susperia come of age, as they produced their best
selling album to date. Recorded at Subsonic studios, Norway and Studio Fredman, Sweden, it
showed a new maturity in song writing and performance as Susperia delivered one of the metal
genres outstanding albums of 2004. Entering Norway’s ‘Official Album Chart’ at Number 43,
the album quickly became a favourite with both fans and media around the world. Further
recognition came with a nomination in the 'Metal' category for Norway's respected ‘Alarm’
awards. In the USA, ‘Unlimited’ was the Third most added album at influential CMJ Loud
Rock Radio and achieved the Number 3 position on the ‘Crucial Spin Charts”. The video for the
song ‘Chemistry’ received regular TV airplay on MTV Headbangers Ball and Havoc TV
amongst others.
September 2005 saw the release of the ‘Devil May Care EP’. Originally intended as a low-key
release between albums, it became a surprise hit reaching Number 19 on Norway’s official ‘Hit
List’. The band created a little piece of music history by becoming the first home grown act in
the metal genre to achieve a Top 20 hit in the country.
Susperia’s fourth full-length studio album was recorded amongst a myriad of internal conflicts,
but the band pulled through to release ‘Cut From Stone’ in 2007. Mixed by Daniel Bergstrand
(In Flames, Meshuggah, Soilwork) at Dug Out Studios, Sweden, with production handled by
Susperia and Marius Strand. It charted at Number 39 on Norway’s ‘Official Album Chart’ and
Number 18 on the National Artist Charts. Impact in the USA was immediate, exceeding the
performance of previous album ‘Unlimited’, as it became the Number 1 most added album at
both CMJ Loud Rock and FMQB Metal Spins radio charts.
With the trials and tribulations of the ‘Cut From Stone’ release firmly behind them Susperia
spent the best part of 2008 putting together their next release.
By the start of 2009 the band had switched labels, signing to Candlelight Records in an
exclusive world wide deal, marking the occasion with the release of their fifth studio album
‘Attitude’ in early 2009. Recorded

at Strand Studio and Cyrus Studio, Norway, it was mixed by Henrik Udd and Fredrik
Nordstrom (Dimmu Borgir, Arch Enemy, Opeth) at Studio Fredman, Sweden The recording
kicks and hurts in the way a good metal album should - mean, nasty, full of aggression and with
the right amount of melody. It goes back to the bands early days with its melancholic riffing
and dark emotional vocals, then moves all the way through to present day, with a perfect blend
of everything that Susperia has been and become.
A powerful live act, the band has consistently remained focused on the live arena. With
numerous high profile supports to bands including W.A.S.P., In Flames and Dimmu Borgir as
well as headline and festival appearances, one of the band’s most cherished experiences thus far
remains the invitation to be the main support to the newly reformed Testament in late 2005.
There is new found confidence and determination running through the Susperia camp these days
and you only have to listen to ‘Attitude’ for confirmation. Ten years and still the same line up,
shows a strong bond and the bands long term commitment to their music. Despite their ups and
downs SUSPERIA have always managed to pull through whatever has been thrown at them.
Never more so has the bands inner strength been tested than following the recent heart attack
suffered by vocalist Athera, which resulted in a successful quadruple by pass operation. If ever
the phrase band of brothers was apt then SUSPERIA fit the bill.

Xerath
I
Genre: Tech Metal
Label: Candlelight Records
Katalognr.: CANDLE274CD
VÖ am: 25.05.2009
OVERVIEW
XERATH ARE A NEW CUTTING EDGE BAND COMBINING CRUSHING MESHUGGAH
STYLE RIFFS WITH EPIC ORCHESTRAL COMPOSITION.
Their sound can be described as taking influence from Strapping young lad, Meshuggah and
Dimmu Borgir to create a distinctive sound they call "orchestral groove metal" (or chug-score!)
The band was formed in 2007 by guitarist Andy Phillips, drummer Michael Pitman, bassist
Owain Williams, and later joined by Richard Thomson on vocals. Originally started as an
experiment to combine film-score with syncopated guitar rhythms, and just a year later a fully
formed gigging band with a clear direction. Xerath aim to carve a long and relentless career on
the cutting edge of technical symphonic groove metal. Terrorizer magazine had this to say
about the band: "Emerging from a fierce competition of no-nonsense death/thrash/black metal
battery, Basingstoke's Xerath eclipsed them all by a long shadow indeed to win 2008's Fear
Candy Unsigned bout with that rarest of qualities; originality. Emphatically underlining the
'progressive' in 'progressive metal', Xerath uncage slick tech-metal polyrhythms, soaring
songwriting ambition and pull it all seamlessly together with the lightness of touch normally
found in expensive music academies full of varnished wood. These are genre-violating extreme
metal soundtracks to inspire real awe."
