1.4 Whether there is any revision/update of regulation or syllabi? If yes, mention their
salient aspects.
Yes, from this academic year the syllabi of second year UG and PG respectively was
revised by SPPU, Pune. As our college is affiliated college we have to follow the
syllabus designed by University. In University syllabus revision committee seven
faculty members from our college had active participation as BOS members andfaculty
members of SPPU, Pune.
Our faculty members insisted upon introduction of Research and Job oriented syllabus
from this academic year.
In addition the college had organised Syllabus Restructuring workshops for teachers
who were not involved in syllabus framing in association with B.C.U.D of SPPU Pune
for S.Y.B.A. (History and Hindi), M.A.-Part II (History and Hindi) and S.Y.B.Sc -
Computer Science and Biotechnology.
Thirty faculty members from our college also attended and contributed in Syllabus
Restructuring workshops organised by other colleges.

Our College has got extension for DBT STAR college status program during2013 for
next two years based on excellent performance at national level due to inclusion of
innovative courses.
Visited research and higher learning centres, Industries, Biodiversity centres and

Our college is affiliated college, as per the guidelines of SPPU Pune the examination evaluation and reforms are as follows:
a) InternalExamination:Two tests based on objective and short answers were conducted for all programs. Answer papers were evaluated by concerned teachers of subjects. The evaluated papers were distributed to the students for verification of marks. The copy of the mark list was displayed on notice board and another was submitted online to University examination section.
b) UniversityExamination:Three sets of question papers were set by the office of the controller of examinations from a panel of paper setters of SPPU. Of the three sets one set is randomly chosen by University and sent online to College Principal and CEO. The college conducts examination as per the time table and rules of SPPU. The answer sheets are sent for evaluation at central assessment program center decided by SPPU Pune.
The answer sheets are evaluated by two examiners. After evaluation the results were published by SPPU within 45 days from the date of examination. On demand, the University COE office issues photocopy of revaluated answer sheets to students.
Note: First year UG evaluation is carried out at college level. The result is declared by college and the mark lists are issued to students through software in the college.

6. Governance, Leadership and Management
6.1 State the Vision and Mission of the institution:
The Vidya Pratishthan Trust owes its vision to the insight of its founder, Hon. Shri.
SharadchandrajiPawar, veteran parliamentarian and Maharashtra’s foremost statesman.
The Trust was founded with the paramount aim of delivering world class education to the
rural poor.
The Arts, Science and Commerce College was established in 1994 in the barren outback of
Baramati town. Within 20 years, the College has been transformed into a premier
destination for higher education in and around the area, thanks largely to the farsightedness
of the founder, the astuteness of the management council and the loyalty and hard work of
the staff.
With the aim of providing quality education to the children of the farmers and laborers of
the region, to give them the self-confidence and dignity that only education can give to a
person, to make students ready to compete in the global marketplace and make them
responsible and accountable citizens of the society and the country.
The College is dedicated to preparing Indian youth for the challenges of the highly

Principal, Registrar and Vice Principals mobilise the team for achieving goals and
objectives. They give directions to faculty and students to implement and execute the
creative ideas.
The Heads of various Departments, Chairperson of 42 committees and their members with
office support staff ensure the smooth functioning of various academic activities conducted
throughout the year.
MIS is also used for Administrative processes including finance- Network through
Software’s like Tally.
6.3 Quality improvement strategies adoptedby the institution for each of the following:
6.3.1 Curriculum Development -
As per guidelines of SPPU, the curriculum designed is implemented by the
college.
During this academic year syllabi of second year undergraduate and second
year of Masters programme of SPPU are restructured.
The college organised syllabus restructuring workshops in association with
B.C.U.D., SPPU for S.Y.B.A., and M.A. II History and Hindi respectively and
S.Y.B.Sc. Computer Science.

Our 11 faculty members actively participated in restructuring of syllabi as BOS
members and Member of Academic Council of SPPU.
A total of 37 faculty members attended and contributed in syllabus restructuring
workshops organised by BCUD, SPPU, Pune.
6.3.2 Teaching and Learning-
ICT facility has been used in classrooms throughout the year for UG and PG
teaching.
Under the initiative of IQAC College organized National Conference, State level
seminar, International symposium and video conferencing sessions.
Field, industry and institutional visits and surveys were conducted to enrich teaching-
learning process.
Staff and students had access to e-Books, Massive Online Open Courses (MOOCs),
references, SOPs of instrumentsetc. to keep abreast and in global competition.

6.3.4 Research and Development -
a) IQAC and Research Advisory Committee motivated the faculty and extended
them full support to file applications to various funding agencies for Minor and
Major Research projects.
b) IQAC and Research Advisory Committee have encouraged Teachers and
Research students for publication of their Research articles/ Research Papers/
Books and chapters.
c) The IQAC and Research Advisory Committee focused on conducting various
innovative research activities for students through DBT Star Program received to
our College.
6.3.5 Library, ICT and physical infrastructure / instrumentation
a) A total of 197 books were added to the existing list of books in the Library
during this academic year. In addition several gratis copies of books donated by
the Hon President Sir were deposited in the separate section of the library. b) The College has added 5 computers to various departments. New reprographic machine
was procured during this academic year for examination section.
c) The college has subscribed N-LIST facility of INFLIBNET through which e-
journals and e-books were made available to the faculty members, researchers
and PG students.
d) The college library provides Web-OPAC based book searching.
e) ICT facilities Strengthened by procuring advance licensed software and
hardware.
6.3.6 Human Resource Management
Various vacancies created for the newly started programs have been filled with
suitable candidates. Academic excellence and teaching aptitude were the criteria for
staff selection.
6.3.7 Faculty and Staff recruitment
To ensure that college gets the best candidates, vacancies were advertised in news papers
of wide circulation. The norms of the SPPU and Government of Maharashtra were strictly
adhered for the process of staff selection in the self financing section.

The Cell conducts academic summits with Industries which has helped in
mobilizing student Placements and knowledge/ Skills essential in an Industry.
Industrial safety program under skill development credit is conducted for
Microbiology and Biotechnology PG students. For Computer Science and
Chemistry PG students Robotics and Chromatographic techniques are conducted
respectively.

The Examination section of SPPU, Pune has set an adaptive technology to facilitate easy
interface for exchange of information between college and University. The details are as
follows-
The University sends online timetables and important circulars related to
examinations on College Link,
The students are asked to fill the Exam forms online. The college office inwards the
examination forms to University.
The University sends soft copy of Hall tickets to college, the printed hall tickets after
verification and duly signed by Principal are handed over to students.
Paper-setters, examiners and moderators are appointed without prejudice by
University authorities.
The University sends online Question Papers to minimize malpractices.
The papers are assessed at Central Assessment Program (CAP) Centre allotted by
SPPU, Pune.
The Results are declared within 45 days by University.
The student can file online application for a photocopy and revaluation of answer
sheet after results.

7. Innovations and Best Practices
7.1 Innovations introduced during this academic yearwhich have created a positive
impact on thefunctioning of the institution. Give details.
Organic farming: It is carried out under the certification of Ecocert, France. Organic
vegetables are cultivated and sold at reasonable cost to the facultyof campus.
Blind faith awareness:Under this activity students are made aware not to fall prey to
blind faith and enhance their scientific temperament.
Clean campus: The leaf litter fallen in the campus is used forvermicomposting.Waste
water and sewage are treated in inbuilt Sewage treatment plant. The treated water is
used for campus plantation. The waste is reduced, water and sewage is recycled and
reused in the ecosystem.

4 Designing of certificate courses
These certificate courses were prepared for the students of college through DBT-STAR College Scheme
Give two Best Practices of the institution:
a) Green and Clean campus:The leaf litter is collected from the campus and used
forvermicomposting. The waste water and sewage are treated in inbuilt sewage
treatment plant. The treated water is used to maintain the greenery of campus. Thus
the waste is reduced, water and sewage is recycled and reused in the campus
ecosystem.
b) Blood group checking and Hemoglobintesting:As the anaemic patient percentage is
high, we have decided to identify anaemic patients from our college students and
provide them with Iron, Folic acid and vitamin B12 medicines with the advice of
doctor.
7.4 Contribution to environmental awareness / protection.
College organized Green and Clean Campus drive.
Solid waste Management through vermicomposting and biogas generation.
Wild life week was celebrated by displaying posters of plants, animals, microbes and
environmental issues to create environmental awareness among the students.
Exhibition of medicinal plants to create awareness about importance of biodiversity and
its conservation.
NSS volunteers planted saplings, removed plastic and other garbage from the adopted
village (Sawantwadi) during NSS camp.
