Conceived by Fuseproject founder Yves Béhar and August cofounder Jason John-son, Smart Lock aims to streamline home entry. The keyless system operates via Bluetooth technology with an iOS or Android mobile application on a smart phone. Access can be customized, allowing owners to send a virtual key to whomever they choose, allowing entry for a designated timeframe. Designed for easy installation, it
replaces the interior portion of the existing deadbolt. Four backup AA batteries ensure the lock continues to function if the power, WiFi, or cable goes out. Plus, in aluminum-anodized sil-ver, champagne, limited-edition red, or dark gray, with an LED indicator, it’s easy on the eyes. Available in Apple stores or on-line. august.com. circle 407
