MA Medical Society support - COVID-19 vaccine for independent medical practices

• One of the approaches for Phase One health care workers eligible for vaccine

• A hospital serving each region of the state identified to act as a “depot” to assist with distribution

• For practices that are unable, due to their size and capacity, to receive larger, direct allocations of vaccine, a depot will redistribute vaccine and ancillary materials for office-based vaccination or will provide direct vaccination to health care workers.

• To enroll in the office-based vaccination, providers must sign up for the MIIS, the MCVP, and possess a valid MA Controlled Substance Registration. There is an MMS Intake Form being sent to providers.

• The MA Medical Society MS will contact qualifying practices to discuss next steps including scheduling times for vaccine pick up at the local depot.

• If providers are not planning to administer the vaccine to staff, MMS will identify the corresponding depot/sites for vaccination, when available.

• For more information and questions, please contact the MMS via email at: [email protected]

Next Steps for continued vaccine clinics

• Operations to continue through Phase 3

• Building the website and new map with pins for clinic information and how to register for appointments

• Will receive a response if you have indicated by email that you would like to continue through Phase 3 with a link to the Google doc to update clinic site information

• If you haven’t been running a clinic in your municipality, you have to have the enrollment in MCVP to receive vaccine.

Ordering more vaccine

• Clinics can indicate that more vaccine is needed via the ‘weekly

survey’ that will go out on Mondays. Orders need to be in by

noon on Wednesday.

• Each link for ordering is unique – you can’t use someone else’s

link. The links will be sent to the contact on the MCVP.

• Email vaccine management unit at DPH-Vaccine-

[email protected] for a link if you don’t

receive it.
