FogeradistricthasaplaintopographyandvastproductivegrazinglandthatisusuallyfloodedduringtherainyseasonbyoverflowsfromthelocalriversofGumaraandRib,andLakeTana. Thenaturalpasturewasusedtosupportlargenumberoflivestockduringthedryseason.
