THE FIRST COMMAND!

Integrated Technology Platform Objective: Provide access to realistic 3D virtualized aircraft when access to mission aircraft are

not available, increase the effectiveness of operational and maintenance training, and reduce the cost of training while increasing the skills and improving knowledge retention of our Airmen.

Impact: ITP enhances learning in the classroom and in other environments where Airmen

execute the mission. The “Virtual Hangar” contains comprehensive Instructor Tools and student-led

Learning Modules. Each Learning Module is custom built to meet specific training requirements, ranging

from checklist execution to 3D-modeled schematic overlays.

THE FIRST COMMAND!

Integrated Technology Platform Beginnings: ITP began early 2019 as an AETC A3/6 initiative; CONOPS in

development Effort originated with the Career Enlisted Aviator (CEA)

schoolhouse at Lackland, where ITP tools/interactive courseware are currently in use in the school’s IST pipeline

Milestones: Aircraft scanned in FY21: E-3G, E-4B, C-17A, UH-1N, MQ-9, C-32A, C-40B, A-10 KC-46 scan scheduled for August

Learning modules currently being built

Time and Money Savings (Fuel, aircraft usage, classroom resources, etc) Aircraft Availability Safety (accident prevention) Training Quality Trainee Confidence/Feedback

VR ROI

Presenter
Presentation Notes
VR efficiencies gained allow MQTP students ability to return back to their assigned units 77.4 hours a month earlier. Training hours spent in the VRTC already yielded a 45 percent reduction of time on the ground training aircraft. Tire & Brake removal/install: Legacy lesson time reduced by 30 percent. Aircraft Power-On: Legacy lesson time reduced by 75 percent. APU Operation: Legacy lesson time reduced by 85 percent.

THE FIRST COMMAND!

Trainee Confidence/Feedback

“I would like for all the tasks to have a program, so that I could learn the systems without fear of damaging actual aircraft equipment.”

“Applies safe by the book methods allowing for good familiarization of the task and aircraft. This forces you to go by the book to ensure

adequate understanding.”

“The details in the program were accurate. The accuracy of the layout helped me when I actually performed the task on the flight-

line.”

THE FIRST COMMAND!

Instructor/SME Customer Feedback

“Our VR units could not have come at a better time because with the real-world missions, all groundtrainers have been cancelled this week and classes have been able to continue by using the VR

systems!”

“I downloaded the E-4 walk around…. and was completely BLOWN AWAY with the product. I likedthe layout of the aircraft and when each section is selected with the laser pointer, the corresponding

section is highlighted in the aircraft layout… so so impressed!”

“The Exterior Inspection was perfect. I loved it, and especially the electrical cart. Your team nailed it.”
