Nature of Services

The Statement of Work (SOW) provides an overview of the nature of Services required;

It provides important context that covers: Reform obligations; Estimated Quantities (rate of effort); A summary of Sites and Services; Commonwealth mandated information systems.

The detailed Services required by the Contractor are split into six Contract Work Breakdown Dictionaries that are an extension of the SOW.

• To enhance or supplement the equipment delivered under LAND 53 Phase 1BR Tranche 1 (night vision binocular and laser aiming devices).

• Emerging technology will provide multi-spectral capability to the dismounted combatant, and must be technically mature and able to be supported in Australia from 2020.

LAND 159 Small Arms will equip ADF combatants with the next generation of grenades, pistols, assault rifles, machine guns, sniper weapon, shotguns and the enabling ancillaries, munitions, target, range improvements, simulation systems and WINBMS integration to realise the potential lethality enhancement.

LAND 4108 Direct Fire Weapons will deliver the next generation of light mortars, short, medium and long range direct fire support weapons as well as small armed drones, command detonated and unmanned weapons systems.

Together, these projects comprise the proposed Lethality Projects that are the subject of this plan. Lethality enables the land combatant to effectively engage threats with lethal and non-lethal force.

– Tranches 2 & 3 procurement will seek to introduce additional equipment into the established contract from the categories identified as required by Army.
