1.1 Introduction
Battery operated Data Retrieval unit typeDR2 is designed as an accessory for selfpowered relay type DPX1. DR2 is connectedto DPX1 via RS485 serial link and the twounits communicate on Modbus protocol. DR2act as master and DPX1 as slave underModbus protocol.
1.2 Functions of DR2
1. It has a Human-Machine-Interface consisting of a two line LCD module and a keypad having three keys for editing/ viewing parameters.
2. It display's the Primary current levels of DPX1 in R, Y, B and Earth according to selected CT Ratio.
3. It displays Nominal Frequency, Trip Count of DPX1. It also allows to reset the trip count.
4. After retrieving the last fault information from DPX1, it stores this information in its non volatile memorywith its local time stamp which user can view even in the absence of DPX1.
5. DR2 provide the provision of its Battery supply to DPX1, required for communication.
1.3 Operation through keypad
Viewing Parameters:
1. Read Primary RMS value of phase and earth current in reference to set CT Ratio.
2. Reading the last four fault records with local date & time stamp
3. Trip Counter Status [Range : 1 -65535]
4. Reading Nominal Frequency of DPX1
Editable Parameters:1. Reset Trip Count
2. Editing the Time & Date setting
3. Editing of CT Ratio [Range : 20 - 400] for primary current display
4. Slave Address configuration for communication with DPX1 [Range: 1-32]
Using Functions of HMI
Main menu: This menu appears on power upas well as by moving to it thru other menusby scrolling.
It displays
When ”ENTER” key is pressed the nextmenu follows. It allows user to read the lastfault record.
To perform a function use ”<-” or ”->” key tomove cursor to desired function and press”ENTER” key.
NOTICEIf no key is pressed for 30 seconds, DR2 unitautomatically switches OFF its supply, otherwise it can be switched OFF by pressingEnter key for 1 sec. Power ON button isseparately available on the front facia.

1.4 LED
On the front panel, there are two LEDs. Theirfunctions are indicated by the appropriateinscriptions along with them. When there is ahealthy communication going between DR2 &DPX1, COMM LED gives the flashingindication.
Battery LOW indication will start flashing assoon as the battery voltage level will dip downto required restraining level.
1.5 Slave Address Configuration
DR2 slave address configuration is availableto match it with DPX1. User can select slaveaddress from 1 to 32 to communicate it withDPX1.
