Texas STaR Chart Information

Student Technology and Readiness

The Texas STaR chart is a resource designed to improve education and success for schools, teachers, and students through the use of technology.

STaR charts that schools, teachers, students and stakeholders can utilize to promote performance and achievement are:

High We will use the Texas STaR Chart to evaluate our technology resources and tools.

Four key areas will be evaluated:– Teaching and Learning– Educator Preparation and Development– Leadership, Administration, and Instructional Support– Infrastructure for Technology

Each of the four key areas are compared to statewide data and each campus is classified accordingly:

– Early Tech– Developing Tech– Advanced Tech– Target Tech

This area remains consistent for all three reports. It is important that we as a campus strive to advance each year in this area because change will be constant and we need to grow along with it to ensure Teaching and Learning remain our focus.

Although we saw growth in the last report, this is an area of weakness for our campus. Through continued collaboration and professional development, we can improve this area for our students and teachers.

This is an area that has shown great fluctuations. We will form a professional learning community to address continued improvements in this area. The PLC will consist of teacher volunteers, an Administrator, and Curriculum Directors.

Our campus has remained Advanced Tech for three consecutive years. Our goal is to stay at this level and continue to be resourceful with our technology and its implementation.


From this data, we as a campus are able to analyze our technology tools and resources.

The Key Area and Classifications provide valuable information that we should use to recognize campus strengths and address weaknesses.

The information provided from this presentation introduces the STaR Chart components and indicates where we as a campus stand in comparison to statewide data.
