In each round, every player will start to play at the same time. If contestants are late, they will still be in the competition with remaining time in that round. 2. It is recommended for contestants to prepare your own earplugs to use for relieve the sound during the play. 6. Schedule is subjected to change. Please follow the announcement from tournament referee again at the venue. 7. The decision by referee will be final. How to count the score 1. Puzzle Score. (Remaining time is 9 minutes and 20 seconds. Therefore, 9 minutes will be used to calculate time bonus score multiplied by 3. So, total time bonus score is 27 points.)

Tournament Rules

How to Rank
Preliminary Rounds 1. After finishing preliminary rounds, top five contestants in each division will
be qualified into final round. 2. In case, score of two or more contestants are even, these rules will be
taken into consideration: a. Total time used. This will be counted cumulatively for each round
that all puzzles are solved CORRECTLY and COMPLETELY. In case, solving puzzle(s) is(are) incorrect or incomplete, it will be considered as full time limit used for that round.
b. In case [a.] cannot justify ranking, the result of last preliminary round will be taken into consideration. The contestant with better result will get higher rank. Still, if it cannot justify ranking, the result of previous round will be considered respectively.
c. In case [a.] and [b.] cannot justify ranking, the total time used of all preliminary rounds will be taken into consideration, regardless of those solving puzzles are correct or complete or not. The contestants with less total time used will get higher rank.
Final Round
1. All finalists will be competing on giant Sudoku board on the stage. Given time limit is 30 minutes. Final puzzle for OPEN division is Samurai Sudoku (1 puzzle). For amateur division, Wing-3 Sudoku (1 puzzle) will be used.
2. The contestant who can solve final Sudoku puzzle correctly with least time used will be the winner of the tournament. The rest of contestants still have to finish the puzzles or time limit reached.
3. In case, there is no contestant completing puzzles within time limit. 5-minute extra time will be given.
4. After 5-minute extra time, if there is still no contestant who can complete the puzzle, the result will be judged based on the number of correct answers. The contestant with the highest number of correct answers will be the winner.
5. In case score in [4.] is equal, the result of preliminary rounds will be taken into consideration. The contestant with the highest total score in preliminary rounds will get higher rank.
6. In case score in [4.] and [5.] are still equal, the rules to justify ranking in preliminary rounds will be applied.
