College at a glanceAWH Engineering College (AEC), established in 2001, is a self financing engineering college managed by Association for Welfare of Handicapped (AWH), Kozhikode, Kerala. It is affiliated to the University of Calicut and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). AWH Engineering College is a co-educational institution established with the sole purpose of honoring engineers of excellent qualities.

The college is located in a serene sprawling and evergreen campus spread over an area of 50 acres near Kuttikattoor. It is 26 kms away from Calicut International Airport, Karipur, 12 kms from Kozhikode Corporation bus stand and 13 kms from Kozhikode railway station.

We have a well designed, state-of-the-art central computing centre. The facilities are arranged in such a way that students will be able to work comfortably for long hours. The total facilities available for students in terms of hardware comprise 550 systems with LCD monitors and printers. A wide collection of computer literature enables students to sharpen their skills in client server development environment.
The centres are enriched with exclusive software. Uninterrupted power supply is provided in these centres. All the departments and laboratories in the campus are connected through internet.
A dedicated leased line (1:1) @ 4 Mbps from Asianet Communications and 4 Mbps from Aircel Communications are provided through RF Link in the Campus.

Campus Networking Hub (CNH)All the blocks in the campus are connected via OFC backbone to a central hub, which has high speed switches and routers. Also wireless WiFi Hot Spots created in the campus are connected to this hub. Structured cabling rules are strictly followed in building the campus network.
The college has a campus-wide networking and computing environment, comprising a vertical OFC backbone of 2 Gbps and horizontal UTP CATS cabling of 100 Mbps capacity. The advanced networking and multimedia lab has a capacity of 50 multimedia workstations, with dedicated IBM servers exclusively for LINUX/WINDOWS environments. The programming Lab has 42 High End IBM workstations and 2 Midrange IBM servers. MCA Lab has the latest Thin Client Computer environment with LINUX/WINDOWS. It has 30 terminals. Common computing centre is equipped with Pentium based terminals on heterogeneous platform. The labs are backed up with high efficient GE/Libert/emersion UPS of 6/10KVA, as a redundant measure against power failure.

The E-LEARNING CENTRE (ELC) subscribes to over 5000 electronic resources along with 200 full-text journals accessible due to INDEST subscription. ELC provides a cess to DELNET also.

fortunate to have
highly experienced faculty who are pioneers in the field
of Civil Engineering and dedicated to teaching
profession. We are in the process of obtaining
recognition of the department as the authority for
checking and scrutinizing the designs of all civil
engineering structures executed by Kerala State PWD
and other departments. Civil Engineering is a basic and
conventional branch of engineering having unlimited
scope of placement in railways, PWD, CPWD, PHED,
Electricity Board, Water Authority, Teaching and in
private organizations in construction field, consultancy
field etc. Entrepreneurs in this field earn a good living.
Besides, there are tremendous opportunities for
employments in Middle East and Western countries.
The Civil Engineering Labs are compatible with those
of the well established colleges like NIT and other
Engineering Colleges in the state.

Testing and ConsultancyFacilities are available for testing all kinds of building materials and engineering properties of soils in the material testing laboratory and Geotechnical laboratory under the Civil Engineering Department. We can also undertake consultancy works for various Civil Engineering constructions.
