INTRODUCTION
Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) is a professional body for Civil Engineers,
which was founded in the UK and is recognised worldwide. Its aim is to ‘foster and
promote the art and science of civil engineering’. ICE is a qualifying body, a centre for
the exchange of specialist knowledge, and a provider of resources to encourage
innovation and excellence in the profession worldwide.
The formation of an ICE Student Chapter at UCSI University Kuala Lumpur
Campus is an important step in the developing the best professionals at this university.
Initial professional development practice and experience acquired through this student
chapter will prepare members for a career of lifelong learning and continuous
professional development within the ICE locally and internationally.
Establishment of this chapter will facilitate UCSI Civil Engineering students to
become well-rounded, professional engineers. Students will also able to enjoy the
benefits that ICE offers, including access to ICE’s international knowledge network.
The virtual library is an excellent source for engineering solutions and research-based
projects, where students will have the chance to engage with ICE students and graduates
all around the world through the Graduates and Students Network exchanging ideas,
opinions, knowledge and experience.
