We do not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury resulting, directly or indirectly, from installation or operation of this product. This product should only be used while standing or to display fixed menus or rear-view-camera video when the vehicle is moving, for example the MP3 menu for DVD upgrades.

Legal notice to compatibility of products

The products delivered are compatible to the last software and developement status of the vehicle, that was notified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Modification and update of vehicle software is a continious process by the vehicle manufacturer.

This can affect the function of the interface,in paritcular case this can cause complete incompatibility. Herefore we assume no liability.

Prior to installation

Read the manual prior to installation. Technical knowledge is necessary for installation. The place of installation must be free of moisture and away from heat sources.

Attention:

After correct connection please check the system for proper functioning.

Please pay attention that after switching off the ignition the status LEDs of all components have gone out (approx. 2 minutes later).

If this is not the case, check the connections or possibly contact the supplier.

For vehicles with sound system an external speaker has to be connected for navigation speech output


Please make sure that in prior to the installation the ignition is switched off and the car is in sleep mode or the battery is disconnected.

1. Dismantling Display & CCU Use removal tools to take out the Frame of the Monitor and Aircon.- Control unit. The complete frame is clip mounted. Use the matching removal tools to unlock the monitor screen. Disconnect the connected cables from the monitor‘s backside. Hang out the glove compartement to ease the insert of the wires . Press the 2 lax ( red arrows ) above the glove compartement to the top at the same time. Then you can flip down the glove compartement.

Use release tools to take out the CCU headunit and disconnect all connectors from the backside.

2.Function Test

3.Insert Cable-kit and Control Unit Insert the cable loom to top right above the cross-brace to the back , till only the Quadlock Connector is left in the DIN Slot !!When inserting the cable loom please take care that none of the cables get damaged. Connect this Y-Cable ( Quadlock ) with the cars Original connector. Connect the in the picture shown cable with the Quadlock connector, which comes from the car and on the other side with the headunit/CCU. Please store / push the Y-Cable with the other cables above the CCU. Above the CCU there is a hole where the quadlock connector must be placed. If the connector with the cables will not stay above you could maybe help yourself with some foam material to clamp it there.

Now you can push back the CCU to the Din slot until it lock correctely again, The Y-Cable with the Quadlock must be all the time during this above the CCU. Now lay the cable for the interface in direction of the empty slot behind the radio‘s monitor. The cables can be layn above and below the Ventilation duct ( 4 ) firmly.

Now you can connect the NIK-Interface with the cable-kit. Connect the 2 white connectors ( 12 and 24 pin ) With the interface and that the lock firmly. ( 1 )

Before placing the interface behind the monitor, please make sure that the DIP-Switch at the interface are set correctely. *Please deactivate not used AV-Input* After making all connections correctely you can place the interface with a velcro or with some cable ties behind the monitor. After doing this you can re-insert the monitor and put the plastic frame back on it. Here you can check all Steps in our video instruction by Scanning the QR-Code

Connect the LVDS Cable which comes with our NIK-Kit to the ( LVDS-Connector ) matching socket at the monitor. The other end of the cable should be connector to the blue (M) socket on the interface (2 ). Plug in into the white interface socket ( R ) the LVDS-cable which comes from the car( 3 )

Connect the below shown cable to the matching socket on the monitor and the other end with the cars matching cable. ( Plug and Play )

4. Mounting navigationbox ANV 2016 : Remove the A-pillar cover below the glove compartement as well as the plastic cover at the doorstep on the nearside. Position GPS-Antenne: On the nearside below the front side triangle window to the metal surface of the car‘s chassis ( Magnetic-Antenna ) Now insert the cable loom to the Navigation-Box* as well as the cable for the GPS- Antenna, behind the glove compartement & below the a-pillar cover to the back und the front passenger seat. The navigation box can be fixed with a velcro tape or with matching screws below the front passenger seat. Here you can find our installation video for the ANV-2016 CE by scanning this QR-Code.

* To assist the wiring process of the cable to ist place under the seat you can tape the cable‘s ends together so it is easier to push & pull it below the carpet under the seat.

4. Setting up the Touch-Function Click on „Panel“ in the Main Menue: Choose “ Ext.Touch” and press „SAVE“ to confirm the setting. Next please press “ Calibration” Now tap on the shown Cross Marks one by one. Press „EXIT „ to exit the screen. Achtung: After doing all settings please Disconnect the ANV2016 CE from the power & reboot it!

5. ANV 2016 CE Settings: The right settings, you see in the ….below Resolution Settings: Chose in the ANV2016 menue

“Resolution“ Enter the Password 7777 and confirm by pressing OK:

Choose in the next Menue “ 800x480 “ and press OK.

Choose in the next Menue “ 800x480 GOLF A7“ and confirm with OK and then with YES.

For adjusting resolution settings, please use a PC mouse with USB connector. Please connect with the navigation box.

How to change settings please see point 5 of this manual.

Vehicles with resolution 800 x 480 :

If you have no correct picture on the screen or 3 pictures are shown at once, please press RADIO button for 2-3 seconds while device is in radio mode. (by pressing PHONE button this switch in the radio mode can be retracted).

For adusting touch function on the montior, please start calibration in the Setup menue (please see point 5 of this manual)


6. Operation of NIK-VW-Z01 : Interface Settings: 1. RGB input. Enable => activate the Navigation Mode Disable => deactivate the Navigation Mode Attention: If the Navigation as well as all A/V inputs are diactivated, the Menue can not be opened again. In this case you must activate at least one A/V Source on the interface. 2. NAVI switch Mode Normal => If you switch to Navigation by press/hold the MEDIA Button the NAVI will be displayed as long as you do not switch back to radio. Auto => If the Navigation has no announcement or alert for more than 60 seconds, the interface will automatically switch back to the original car radio (the last shown source before switching to NAVI). Once a new announcement or alert is coming, the interface will switch back to the NAVI-Mode. 3. Back Camera Control

CANbus => for Cars with Automatic/ DSG Gearbox the reverse signal will be autom. detected and the monitor will switch autom. to the reverse Camera when you put in the reverse gear. REV.Wr => For cars with a manual gearbox, Reverse Signal (+12V) need to be connected manually to the interface. See connection (Point 7 ) 4. Left Speaker Switch Auto => All Announcements will come by the left front speaker. Off => No Audio output by the cars speaker. ( e.g. if the customer want to use an external speaker) 5. DTV Model

Choose preset DVB-T Tuner IR-Control settings For further information please contact Axion 6. AUX Control This function is currently not supported. 7. DTV IR Learning This function is currently not supported.


Adjust Interface NIK-VWZ-01 :

By touching the display for 10 seconds adjusting menue of the interface opens. Herefore your have to be in navigation- or in an AV-mode To adjust settings please touch selection behind the menue items.

7. Starting Software NIK-VWZ-01 : Insert SD card into the navigation box: Please remove the cover from SD card slot of the navigtion box, insert the SD card with navigation software and fix the cover. Please ensure that SD card is locked in the slot. !!! Attention: Don‘t forget the 30 days Latest Map Update!!! ( please see extra sheet „Software“ )


8. TMC Installation NIK-VWZ-01 : Connection and installation of TMC-Adapter: Lead the antenna on a place, where you have strong FM reception. (e.g. behind the windscreen or A-pillar) Now connect the UART cable of the TMC module to the UART jack of the harness. Set up TMC :

By pressing “More“ “Settings“ “Traffic“ the settings for TMC-adjusting can be selected.


9. Handling NIK-VWZ-01 : Switch to navigation: Press the MEDIA-button on the Radio for 2 seconds. The Radio then will switch to NAVI. Switch back to original Radio: 1. If you hold the Media-button again you will get out off the Navigation surface,

without stopping the Navigation. You can press any button (except MUTE) on the radio to enter the required Function of the original cars radio.

2. By holding the Media Button again, the device switches back to Navigation.

Switch to further AV-sources: By short pressing of Media Button the activated AV Input ( AV1 – AV3 ) can be choosen successively. ( If Interface is selected ) • Hold Media Button for 2 seconds switch to Navigation • short Press Media Button Navigation => AV1 => AV2 => AV3 => Navigation • Hold Media Button for 2 seconds switch to Radio

10. Further Connections NIK-VWZ-01 : 6 pol. Connector • Black = Ground • Yellow = 12 V + • Red = Ignition 12V + • Orange = no function • brown = 12 V output for Reverse Camera • Blue = Reverse Signal input (+12V) ( only for cars with manual gearbox) These Connections can be used for the power supply of external devices or an aftermarket Reverse Camera.

12. Trouble shooting : 1. No picture / distorted picture on the screen:

Please check all connctor ans pins. Please check all plug connections. Pleae check conncection of interface and monitor If there is just an partions picture on the screen or thre are 2 pictures, please see point 6 of this manual. 2. No touch function If touch screen function of the radio does not work or touch screen responds at an other position you touched, touch screen must be re-adjusted. Herefore please use an PC mouse with USB connector. Please connect with the navigation box. How to change settings please see point 5 of this manual.

3. No or bad GPS connection: Please check if GPS antenna is connected to the navigation box. Please check if GPS antenne is placed correctly (please see point 4 this manual). 4. Vehicle fault memory: If the are errors saved on the contoll unit of the vehicle, correct function of the navigations device can‘t be guaranteed. Read out controll unit and delete errors. 5. No announcement: If there is no announcement please check settings of navigation software. If vehicle has a sound system you have to use external speaker for navigation box. 5. No picture / black screen while reversing Please check DIP switches an adjust as shown in this manual.
