Customer Information: The information in thisinstallation instruction is intended for use only byskilled technicians who have the proper tools,equipment, and training to correctly and safely addequipment to your vehicle. These proceduresshould not be attempted by “do-it-yourselfers.”
1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for theradio, then write down the frequencies for thepreset buttons.
2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
If the your vehicle is equipped with a navigationsystem, go to step 22 ; if not, continue with step 3.
3. Place the shift lever in the N (Neutral) position.

4. Remove the center panel (ten clips and disconnectthe connectors).
5. Remove the audio unit (three self-tapping screws,two clips, and disconnect the vehicle connector).
6. Remove the damper arm cover and disconnect thearm.
7. Open the glove box and remove the two stoppersby releasing the two retaining tabs. Remove thetwo screws that fasten the glove box, then removethe glove box.
8. Route the DIN connector end of the bus cable fromthe audio unit opening to the glove box opening.

Without the XM Radio or the Option Player:• Align the bus cable 14-pin connector with vehicle
20-pin connector and secure bus cable to thevehicle harness with the two wire ties.
With the XM Radio or the Option Player:
• Connect the bus cable 14-pin connector and vehicle14-pin connector (for XM radio) or player bus cable14-pin connector to the bus cable 2 port 14-pinconnectors.
• Attach one cushon tape around each bus cable 2port 14-pin connector.
• Bundle up the vehicle harness or player bus cable.
• Secure the bus cable and bus cable 2 port with thetwo wire ties as illustrated.
• Align the bus cable 2 port 14-pin connector with thevehicle 20-pin connector, and secure the bus cableto the vehicle harness with two wire ties.

10. Put a mark with a felt-tip pen on the illustratedlocation of the MusicLink harness.
11. Route the MusicLink harness through thegrommet.
12. Cut one cushion tape in quarters, and wrap the cuttwo cushion tapes to the illustrated location of theMusicLink harness.
13. To prevent damage, wrap electrical tape around thedrill bit at a point about 30 mm away from the tip.While wearing eye protection, drill a 19 mm (3/4")hole through the marked location. Remove all burrsfrom the drilled hole.
14. Route the MusicLink harness DIN connector intothe 19 mm hole in the direction shown, and installthe grommet to the 19 mm hole.
15. Using isopropyl alcohol, clean the vehicle pipewhere the cushion tape will attach. Attach acushion tape to the vehicle pipe.

16. Insert the MusicLink adapter unit into the unitcushion.

17. Route the MusicLink harness and bus cablethrough the glove box opening and connect theMusicLink harness DIN connector (White) and buscable DIN connector (Black) to the MusicLinkadapter assembly. Note the location of theconnectors and the terminals.
18. Secure the MusicLink adapter assembly to thevehicle pipe with two long wire ties.
19. Bundle up the excess MusicLink harness and buscable, and secure them to the vehicle harnesswith the two wire ties (Align the mark made in step10 with the wire tie as shown).

21. Connect the vehicle connectors and bus cable 14-pin connector ( or bus cable 2 port 14-pinconnector ) to the audio unit, and reinstall theaudio unit. Go to step 44.

24. Remove the head unit (two bolts, two clips).

28. Connect the bus cable 14-pin connector andvehicle 14-pin connector (for XM radio) to the buscable 2 port 14-pin connectors.
31. At the glove box opening, secure the bus cable tothe vehicle harness with two wire ties.
32. Put a mark with a felt-tip pen on the illustratedlocation of the MusicLink harness.
33. Route the MusicLink harness through thegrommet.
34. Cut one cushion tape in 4 equal parts, and wrapthe cut two cushion tapes to the illustratedlocation of the MusicLink harness.
35. To prevent damage, wrap electrical tape aroundthe drill bit at a point about 30 mm away from thetip. While wearing eye protection, drill a 19 mm(3/4") hole through the marked location. Removeall barrs from the drilled hole.

42. Reinstall the glove box. 43. Connect the vehicle connectors and bus cable 14-pin connector ( or bus cable 2 port 14-pinconnector ) to the navigation unit, and reinstall thenavigation unit.
44. Check that all wire harnesses are routed properlyand all connectors are plugged in.
45. Reconnect the negative cable to the battery.
46. Enter the customer’s radio anti-theft code, andreset the radio station presets, the clock.
47. Reinstall all removed parts.
48. Turn the power of the audio unit ON. Check that"No Disc" is shown on the display while in the CDchanger mode (recognized as CD changer 4).
NOTE: Whenever the battery is disconnected, thedriver’s AUTO function is disable.
49. Start the engine. Push down on the driver’swindow switch until the window is fully open.
50. Pull up on the driver’s window switch fully to closethe window completely, then hold the switch for2 seconds or more.
