Dear Friends,
It is matter of satisfaction that Department of Information
Technology and Communications, Government of Andhra
Pradesh, is Co-hosting the largest ICT Event, eINDIA
conference, Exhibition & Awards in Hyderabad.
Government of India has earmarked crores of rupees
for empowering its citizens and the society at large by
arranging innovative ICT solutions in various projects
like UID and organising various schemes for skill
development, enhancing of knowledge and education,
upgrading Infrastructure, etc. The goals and objectives of the 12th Five Year Plan also
focuses on deployment of ICTs to serve important national priorities such as creation
of employment, building skills, improving delivery of services, etc.
Now Question arises for us, as to how these technology deployment and trends will
have an impact on development plans; in what manner we should participate in the
nation building exercises; what should be our strategy and action plan be to support
these developments, as there are several directions impinge on the relations between
ICTs and socio-economic development.
At this juncture. I am glad to mention that Andhra Pradesh has several innovations
to share. Hyderabad, the IT hotspot of India is high on account of Infrastructure and
Human Resources. The Government of Andhra Pradesh aspires to become a leading
destination for investments in ICT, transform the state into a knowledge society and
make available the benefits of Information technology to all citizens
The State has been keenly focusing on growth and development of new and
emerging technologies in the areas of healthcare and education. It has been
increasingly using the ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) to offer
citizen service at convenient location with an initiative to improve the outreach, make
services more transparent and reduce response time with reducing costs.
The State has revolutionized the way G2C services are rendered to citizens by
delivering services through Mee Seva centers. Mee Seva is a citizen centric facility
providing convenient access to citizens in an easier, faster and transparent manner.
At present, 40 Government to citizen (G2C) services are being availed and more than
100 services are planned to be delivered to the Citizens across the state by December,
2012. More than 3.66 Crores of land records have been digitally signed and posted for
delivery across the counter.
I deem it a privilege to once again announce and invite you all to be a part of this
largest ICT event eINDIA 2012. I also wish the event all success.
